Jesus Heals a Paralytic
(Mark 2:1–12; Luke 5:17–26)

1And, entering into a boat, He crossed over, and came into His own city.

2And, behold, they were bringing to Him a paralytic laid upon a couch. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Child, be of good courage; your sins are forgiven." 3And, behold, some of the scribes said among themselves, "This Man is blaspheming! " 4And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why think ye evil in your hearts? 5For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Arise, and walk.' 6"But, that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority on the earth to forgive sins" (then saith He to the paralytic), "Arise, and take up your bed, and go to your house." 7And, having arisen, he went to his house; 8and, seeing it, the multitudes feared, and glorified God, Who gave such authority to men.

Jesus Calls Matthew
(Mark 2:13–17; Luke 5:27–32)

9And Jesus, passing on thence, saw a man, called Matthew, sitting at the tax-office, and He saith to him, "Follow Me." And, rising up, he followed Him.

10And it came to pass, as He was reclining at table in the house, behold, many tax-collectors and sinners, having come, were reclining with Jesus and His disciples. 11And the Pharisees, seeing it, said to His disciples, Why is your Teacher eating with the tax-collectors and sinners?" 12And Jesus, hearing it, said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are ill. 13But, going, learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice;' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

14Then came to Him the disciples of John, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Thy disciples fast not?" 15Jesus said to them, "Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn while the Bridegroom is with them! But there will come days, when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast."

The Patches and the Wineskins

16"And no one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse rent is made." 17"Neither do they put new wine into old wine-skins; otherwise, indeed, the skins burst, and the wine runs out, and the skins are destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wine-skins, and both are preserved together."

The Healing Touch of Jesus

18While He is speaking these things to them, behold, a ruler, having come to Him, was worshiping Him, saying, "My daughter just now died; but, coming, lay Thy hand upon her, and she shall live." 19And Jesus, having risen, was following him, also His disciples.

20And, behold, a woman, having a flow of blood twelve years, having come up behind Him, touched the border of His garment; 21for she was saying within herself, "If I only touch His garment, I shall be made well." 22And Jesus, turning and seeing her, said, "Be of good courage, daughter, your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.

23And Jesus, having come into the house of the ruler, and seeing the flute-players and the multitude making a tumult,

24said, "Withdraw; for the damsel did not die, but is sleeping." And they were laughing at Him. 25But, when the multitude was put forth, having gone in, He took hold of her hand, and the damsel arose. 26And the report of this went forth into all that land.

Jesus Heals the Blind and Mute
(Mark 7:31–37)

27And, as Jesus was passing on thence, two blind men followed Him, crying out, and saying, "Have mercy on us, O Son of David!" 28And the blind men came to Him, when He entered into the house; and He saith to them, "Believe ye that I am able to do this?" They say to Him, "Yes, Lord." 29Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." 30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly charged them, saying, "See that no one know it." 31But they, having gone forth, spread abroad His fame in all that land.

32And, as they were going forth, behold, they have brought to Him a dumb man, a demoniac; 33and, the demon having been cast oat, the dumb spake. And the multitudes wondered, saying, "Never was it so seen in Israel!" 34But the Pharisees said, "By the ruler of the demons He is casting out the demons."

The Lord of the Harvest
(Luke 10:1–12)

35And Jesus was going about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every infirmity.

36And, seeing the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd. 37Then He saith to His disciples, "The harvest, indeed, is abundant, but the laborers few; 38pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that He send forth laborers into His harvest.
