2 You, with Your hand, dispossessed the nations, and You planted them; You afflicted the peoples and sent them forth. 3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their sword, and their arm did not bring salvation to them; but it was Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You delighted in them. 4 You are my King, O God; Command deliverances for Jacob. 5 Through You we push back our adversaries; by Your name we trample those rising against us. 6 For not in my bow do I trust, and my sword will not save me. 7 For You have saved us from our adversaries, and those hating us, You have put to shame. 8 In God we have boasted all the day, and we will praise Your name forever. Selah 9 yet You have rejected us and put us to shame, and You do not go forth with our armies. 10 You make us turn back from the adversary, and those hating us have taken plunder for themselves. 11 You have appoint us for food like sheep, and among the nations You have scattered us. 12 You sell Your people with no profit, and You do not gain increase by their price. 13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a mockery and derision to those around us. 14 You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples. 15 All the day, my disgrace is before me, and the shame of my face has covered me, 16 at the voice of a reproacher and reviler, from the face of the enemy and avenger. 17 All this has come upon us, and we have not forgotten You, and we have not dealt falsely with Your covenant. 18 Our heart has not turned back, nor our steps turned aside from Your path. 19 Yet You have crushed us in the place of jackals, and You have covered over us with the shadow of death. 20 If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a strange god, 21 would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. 22 Yet for Your sake we are killed all the day; we are reckoned as sheep for the slaughter. 23 Rouse Yourself! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Awake! Do not reject us forever. 24 Why do You hide Your face? You forget our affliction and our oppression. 25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly has clung to the ground. 26 Rise up as helper to us, and redeem us for the sake of Your loving devotion!
