1	Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the powerless and not to please ourselves.	We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.	We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.
2	Let each of us please the neighbor unto good, for building up.	Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.	Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
3	For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it has been written: “The reproaches of those reproaching You fell on Me.”	For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”	For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”
4	For as much as was written before was all written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have the hope.	For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.	For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
5	Now may the God of endurance and encouragement grant you⁺ to be of the same mind with one another, according to Christ Jesus,	May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,	May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,
6	so that with one accord, with one mouth, you⁺ may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.	that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.	so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7	Therefore receive one another as Christ also received you⁺, to the glory of God.	Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.	Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
8	For I say that Christ has become a servant of the circumcision for the truth of God, in order to confirm the promises to the fathers,	For I tell you that Christ became a servant to the circumcised to show God’s truthfulness, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs,	For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed
9	and for the Gentiles to glorify God for mercy, as it has been written: “Because of this I will praise You among the Gentiles, and I will sing praises to Your name.”	and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.”	and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name.”
10	And again it says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.”	And again it is said, “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.”	Again, it says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”
11	And again: “Praise the Lord, all the Gentiles, and extol Him, all the peoples.”	And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples extol him.”	And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples extol him.”
12	And again, Isaiah says: “There will be the root of Jesse, and the One arising to rule over the Gentiles; in Him the Gentiles will hope.”	And again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.”	And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.”
13	And may the God of hope fill you⁺ with all joy and peace in believing, for you⁺ to abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.	May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.	May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
14	And I myself also am persuaded concerning you⁺, my brothers, that you yourselves are also full of goodness, being filled with all knowledge, and being able to admonish one another.	I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.	I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
15	But I wrote to you⁺ more boldly in part, as reminding you⁺, because of the grace having been given to me by God	But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God	Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me
16	for me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest in the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles might become acceptable, having been sanctified in the Holy Spirit.	to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.	to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
17	Therefore I have ground for boasting in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God.	In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.	Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God.
18	For I will not dare to speak of anything that Christ did not work through me for the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,	For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed,	I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done—
19	in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God, so as for me, from Jerusalem and around as far as Illyricum, to have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ,	by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;	by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
20	and thus striving earnestly to preach the gospel where Christ was not named, so that I might not build upon another’s foundation.	and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,	It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.
21	But as it has been written: “They will see, to whom it was not announced concerning Him; and those who have not heard will understand.”	but as it is written, “Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.”	Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
22	Therefore also I was being himdered many times from coming to you⁺.	This is the reason why I have so often been hindered from coming to you.	This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.
23	But now, no longer having a place in these regions, and having a great desire for many years to come to you⁺,	But now, since I no longer have any room for work in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to come to you,	But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to visit you,
24	as I may go to Spain, I hope, for going through, to see you⁺ and to be sent forth there by you⁺, if first I should be filled up of you⁺ in part.	I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain, and to be helped on my journey there by you, once I have enjoyed your company for a while.	I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.
25	But now I am going to Jerusalem, serving the saints.	At present, however, I am going to Jerusalem bringing aid to the saints.	Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the Lord’s people there.
26	For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make some contribution for the poor of the saints who are in Jerusalem.	For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem.	For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.
27	For they were pleased, and they are debtors of them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they ought also to minister to them in the fleshly things.	For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.	They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.
28	Therefore, having completed this, and having sealed this fruit to them, I will depart through you⁺ to Spain.	When therefore I have completed this and have delivered to them what has been collected, I will leave for Spain by way of you.	So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this contribution, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.
29	And I know that coming to you⁺ I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.	I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.	I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.
30	Now I exhort you⁺, brothers, through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in the prayers for me to God,	I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,	I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.
31	so that I may be delivered from the unbelieving ones in Judea, and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,	that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,	Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the Lord’s people there,
32	so that having come to you⁺ in joy, through the will of God I may be refreshed together with you⁺.	so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.	so that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
33	Now the God of peace be with all of you⁺. Amen.	May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.	The God of peace be with you all. Amen.
