| 1 | לַמְנַצֵּ֣חַ עַל־ שֹׁ֭שַׁנִּים לִבְנֵי־ קֹ֑רַח מַ֝שְׂכִּ֗יל שִׁ֣יר יְדִידֹֽת׃ רָ֘חַ֤שׁ לִבִּ֨י ׀ דָּ֘בָ֤ר ט֗וֹב אֹמֵ֣ר אָ֭נִי מַעֲשַׂ֣י לְמֶ֑לֶךְ לְ֝שׁוֹנִ֗י עֵ֤ט ׀ סוֹפֵ֬ר מָהִֽיר׃ | My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe. | For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil. A wedding song. My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. | |
| 2 | יָפְיָפִ֡יתָ מִבְּנֵ֬י אָדָ֗ם ה֣וּצַק חֵ֭ן בְּשְׂפְתוֹתֶ֑יךָ עַל־ כֵּ֤ן בֵּֽרַכְךָ֖ אֱלֹהִ֣ים לְעוֹלָֽם׃ | You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. | You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever. | |
| 3 | חֲגֽוֹר־ חַרְבְּךָ֣ עַל־ יָרֵ֣ךְ גִּבּ֑וֹר ה֝וֹדְךָ֗ וַהֲדָרֶֽךָ׃ | Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty! | Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one; clothe yourself with splendor and majesty. | |
| 4 | וַהֲדָ֬רְךָ֨ ׀ צְלַ֬ח רְכַ֗ב עַֽל־ דְּבַר־ אֱ֭מֶת וְעַנְוָה־ צֶ֑דֶק וְתוֹרְךָ֖ נוֹרָא֣וֹת יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ | In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds! | In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds. | |
| 5 | חִצֶּ֗יךָ שְׁנ֫וּנִ֥ים עַ֭מִּים תַּחְתֶּ֣יךָ יִפְּל֑וּ בְּ֝לֵ֗ב אוֹיְבֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ | Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; the peoples fall under you. | Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet. | |
| 6 | כִּסְאֲךָ֣ אֱ֭לֹהִים עוֹלָ֣ם וָעֶ֑ד שֵׁ֥בֶט מִ֝ישֹׁ֗ר שֵׁ֣בֶט מַלְכוּתֶֽךָ׃ | Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness; | Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. | |
| 7 | אָהַ֣בְתָּ צֶּדֶק֮ וַתִּשְׂנָ֫א רֶ֥שַׁע עַל־ כֵּ֤ן ׀ מְשָׁחֲךָ֡ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֱ֭לֹהֶיךָ שֶׁ֥מֶן שָׂשׂ֗וֹן מֵֽחֲבֵרֶֽיךָ׃ | you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions; | You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. | |
| 8 | מֹר־ וַאֲהָל֣וֹת קְ֭צִיעוֹת כָּל־ בִּגְדֹתֶ֑יךָ מִֽן־ הֵ֥יכְלֵי שֵׁ֝֗ן מִנִּ֥י שִׂמְּחֽוּךָ׃ | your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad; | All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad. | |
| 9 | בְּנ֣וֹת מְ֭לָכִים בְּיִקְּרוֹתֶ֑יךָ נִצְּבָ֥ה שֵׁגַ֥ל לִֽ֝ימִינְךָ֗ בְּכֶ֣תֶם אוֹפִֽיר׃ | daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir. | Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir. | |
| 10 | שִׁמְעִי־ בַ֣ת וּ֭רְאִי וְהַטִּ֣י אָזְנֵ֑ךְ וְשִׁכְחִ֥י עַ֝מֵּ֗ךְ וּבֵ֥ית אָבִֽיךְ׃ | Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father’s house, | Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention: Forget your people and your father’s house. | |
| 11 | וְיִתְאָ֣ו הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יָפְיֵ֑ךְ כִּי־ ה֥וּא אֲ֝דֹנַ֗יִךְ וְהִשְׁתַּֽחֲוִי־ לֽוֹ׃ | and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him. | Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. | |
| 12 | וּבַֽת־ צֹ֨ר ׀ בְּ֭מִנְחָה פָּנַ֥יִךְ יְחַלּ֗וּ עֲשִׁ֣ירֵי עָֽם׃ | The people of Tyre will seek your favor with gifts, the richest of the people. | The city of Tyre will come with a gift, people of wealth will seek your favor. | |
| 13 | כָּל־ כְּבוּדָּ֣ה בַת־ מֶ֣לֶךְ פְּנִ֑ימָה מִֽמִּשְׁבְּצ֖וֹת זָהָ֣ב לְבוּשָֽׁהּ׃ | All glorious is the princess in her chamber, with robes interwoven with gold. | All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. | |
| 14 | לִרְקָמוֹת֮ תּוּבַ֪ל לַ֫מֶּ֥לֶךְ בְּתוּל֣וֹת אַ֭חֲרֶיהָ רֵעוֹתֶ֑יהָ מ֖וּבָא֣וֹת לָֽךְ׃ | In many-colored robes she is led to the king, with her virgin companions following behind her. | In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her— those brought to be with her. | |
| 15 | תּ֭וּבַלְנָה בִּשְׂמָחֹ֣ת וָגִ֑יל תְּ֝בֹאֶ֗ינָה בְּהֵ֣יכַל מֶֽלֶךְ׃ | With joy and gladness they are led along as they enter the palace of the king. | Led in with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the king. | |
| 16 | תַּ֣חַת אֲ֭בֹתֶיךָ יִהְי֣וּ בָנֶ֑יךָ תְּשִׁיתֵ֥מוֹ לְ֝שָׂרִ֗ים בְּכָל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ | In place of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth. | Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land. | |
| 17 | אַזְכִּ֣ירָה שִׁ֭מְךָ בְּכָל־ דֹּ֣ר וָדֹ֑ר עַל־ כֵּ֥ן עַמִּ֥ים יְ֝הוֹדֻ֗ךָ לְעֹלָ֥ם וָעֶֽד׃ | I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore nations will praise you forever and ever. | I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever. | |
