1	And YHWH said to Aaron, “You and your sons and the house of your father with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your⁺ priesthood.	So the LORD said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall bear iniquity connected with the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity connected with your priesthood.	The LORD said to Aaron, “You, your sons and your family are to bear the responsibility for offenses connected with the sanctuary, and you and your sons alone are to bear the responsibility for offenses connected with the priesthood.
2	And bring your brothers of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, near with you, that they may be joined with you and serve you while you and your sons are with you before the Tent of the Testimony.	And with you bring your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may join you and minister to you while you and your sons with you are before the tent of the testimony.	Bring your fellow Levites from your ancestral tribe to join you and assist you when you and your sons minister before the tent of the covenant law.
3	And they shall attend to your needs and the needs of all the tabernacle. However, to the articles of the sanctuary and the altar they shall not come near, lest they die—both they and also you⁺.	They shall keep guard over you and over the whole tent, but shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary or to the altar lest they, and you, die.	They are to be responsible to you and are to perform all the duties of the tent, but they must not go near the furnishings of the sanctuary or the altar. Otherwise both they and you will die.
4	And they shall be joined with you and attend to the needs of the Tent of Meeting for all the work of the tabernacle; and an outsider may not come near to you⁺.	They shall join you and keep guard over the tent of meeting for all the service of the tent, and no outsider shall come near you.	They are to join you and be responsible for the care of the tent of meeting—all the work at the tent—and no one else may come near where you are.
5	And you⁺ shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and the duties of the altar, that there be no more wrath on the sons of Israel.	And you shall keep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, that there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel.	“You are to be responsible for the care of the sanctuary and the altar, so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelites again.
6	And I, behold, I have taken your⁺ brothers the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel; to you⁺ they are a gift given by YHWH to do the work of the Tent of Meeting.	And behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the people of Israel. They are a gift to you, given to the LORD, to do the service of the tent of meeting.	I myself have selected your fellow Levites from among the Israelites as a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD to do the work at the tent of meeting.
7	Therefore you and your sons with you shall attend to your⁺ priesthood for everything concerning the altar and behind the veil, and you⁺ shall serve. I give to you your⁺ priesthood as a service for a gift, and the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”	And you and your sons with you shall guard your priesthood for all that concerns the altar and that is within the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood as a gift, and any outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”	But only you and your sons may serve as priests in connection with everything at the altar and inside the curtain. I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. Anyone else who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death.”
8	And YHWH spoke to Aaron: “And I, behold, I have given you charge of My contributions. All the holy gifts of the sons of Israel to you I have given as a portion, and to your sons, as an ordinance forever.	Then the LORD spoke to Aaron, “Behold, I have given you charge of the contributions made to me, all the consecrated things of the people of Israel. I have given them to you as a portion and to your sons as a perpetual due.	Then the LORD said to Aaron, “I myself have put you in charge of the offerings presented to me; all the holy offerings the Israelites give me I give to you and your sons as your portion, your perpetual share.
9	This shall be yours from the holy of holies, from the fire: All their offerings, all grain offerings, and all sin offerings, and all guilt offerings, which they render to Me, it is holy of holies to you and to your sons.	This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every offering of theirs, every grain offering of theirs and every sin offering of theirs and every guilt offering of theirs, which they render to me, shall be most holy to you and to your sons.	You are to have the part of the most holy offerings that is kept from the fire. From all the gifts they bring me as most holy offerings, whether grain or sin or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons.
10	In the holy of holies you shall eat it; every male shall eat it. It shall be holy to you.	In a most holy place shall you eat it. Every male may eat it; it is holy to you.	Eat it as something most holy; every male shall eat it. You must regard it as holy.
11	And this is yours: The contribution of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the sons of Israel; I have given them to you and to your sons and daughters with you as an everlasting ordinance. Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it.	This also is yours: the contribution of their gift, all the wave offerings of the people of Israel. I have given them to you, and to your sons and daughters with you, as a perpetual due. Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it.	“This also is yours: whatever is set aside from the gifts of all the wave offerings of the Israelites. I give this to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share. Everyone in your household who is ceremonially clean may eat it.
12	All the best of the oil, and all the best of the new wine and the grain, their firstfruits that they offer to YHWH, I have given them to you.	All the best of the oil and all the best of the wine and of the grain, the firstfruits of what they give to the LORD, I give to you.	“I give you all the finest olive oil and all the finest new wine and grain they give the LORD as the firstfruits of their harvest.
13	The firstfruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to YHWH, shall be unto you. Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it.	The first ripe fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to the LORD, shall be yours. Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it.	All the land’s firstfruits that they bring to the LORD will be yours. Everyone in your household who is ceremonially clean may eat it.
14	Every devoted thing in Israel shall be unto you.	Every devoted thing in Israel shall be yours.	“Everything in Israel that is devoted to the LORD is yours.
15	Everything opening the womb of all flesh, which they bring to YHWH, whether the man or the beast, shall be yours. Nevertheless you must surely redeem the firstborn of the man, and the firstborn of the unclean animals you shall redeem.	Everything that opens the womb of all flesh, whether man or beast, which they offer to the LORD, shall be yours. Nevertheless, the firstborn of man you shall redeem, and the firstborn of unclean animals you shall redeem.	The first offspring of every womb, both human and animal, that is offered to the LORD is yours. But you must redeem every firstborn son and every firstborn male of unclean animals.
16	And their ransomed ones from a son of a month, you shall redeem according to your valuation for silver, five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; it is twenty gerahs.	And their redemption price (at a month old you shall redeem them) you shall fix at five shekels in silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.	When they are a month old, you must redeem them at the redemption price set at five shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs.
17	But the firstborn of a cow or the firstborn of a sheep or the firstborn of a goat you shall not redeem; they are holy. Their blood you shall sprinkle on the altar, and their fat you shall burn as a fire offering, for a pleasing aroma to YHWH.	But the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat, you shall not redeem; they are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar and shall burn their fat as a food offering, with a pleasing aroma to the LORD.	“But you must not redeem the firstborn of a cow, a sheep or a goat; they are holy. Splash their blood against the altar and burn their fat as a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
18	And their flesh shall be unto you, as the breast of the wave offering and the right thigh are unto you.	But their flesh shall be yours, as the breast that is waved and as the right thigh are yours.	Their meat is to be yours, just as the breast of the wave offering and the right thigh are yours.
19	All the contributions of the holy things, which the sons of Israel offer to YHWH, I have given to you and your sons and daughters with you as an everlasting statute. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the face of YHWH with you and your seed with you.”	All the holy contributions that the people of Israel present to the LORD I give to you, and to your sons and daughters with you, as a perpetual due. It is a covenant of salt forever before the LORD for you and for your offspring with you.”	Whatever is set aside from the holy offerings the Israelites present to the LORD I give to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the LORD for both you and your offspring.”
20	And YHWH said to Aaron, “You shall not inherit in their land, and you shall not have any portion in their midst. I am your portion and your inheritance in the midst of the sons of Israel.	And the LORD said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.	The LORD said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.
21	And the sons of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance, in return for the work that they perform, the service of the Tent of Meeting.	“To the Levites I have given every tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service that they do, their service in the tent of meeting,	“I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting.
22	And hereafter the sons of Israel shall not come near to the Tent of Meeting, lest they bear sin and die.	so that the people of Israel do not come near the tent of meeting, lest they bear sin and die.	From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die.
23	And the Levite, he shall perform the work of the Tent of Meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity. It shall be a statute forever throughout your⁺ generations, and in the midst of the sons of Israel they shall have no inheritance.	But the Levites shall do the service of the tent of meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, and among the people of Israel they shall have no inheritance.	It is the Levites who are to do the work at the tent of meeting and bear the responsibility for any offenses they commit against it. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites.
24	For the tithes of the sons of Israel, which they offer up to YHWH as a contribution, I have given to the Levites as an inheritance. Upon thus I have said to them: In the midst of the sons of Israel they shall not have an inheritance.”	For the tithe of the people of Israel, which they present as a contribution to the LORD, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance. Therefore I have said of them that they shall have no inheritance among the people of Israel.”	Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the LORD. That is why I said concerning them: ‘They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.’”
25	And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,	And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,	The LORD said to Moses,
26	“And to the Levites speak and say to them, ‘When you⁺ take from the sons of Israel the tithes that I have given to you⁺ from them as your⁺ inheritance, you⁺ shall offer up from it a contribution to YHWH, a tenth of the tithe.	“Moreover, you shall speak and say to the Levites, ‘When you take from the people of Israel the tithe that I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall present a contribution from it to the LORD, a tithe of the tithe.	“Speak to the Levites and say to them: ‘When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the LORD’s offering.
27	And your⁺ contributions shall be reckoned to you⁺ as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.	And your contribution shall be counted to you as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.	Your offering will be reckoned to you as grain from the threshing floor or juice from the winepress.
28	Thus you⁺ shall lift up—you⁺ also—a contribution to YHWH from all your⁺ tithes that you⁺ receive from the sons of Israel. And you⁺ shall give from it the contribution of YHWH to Aaron the priest.	So you shall also present a contribution to the LORD from all your tithes, which you receive from the people of Israel. And from it you shall give the LORD’s contribution to Aaron the priest.	In this way you also will present an offering to the LORD from all the tithes you receive from the Israelites. From these tithes you must give the LORD’s portion to Aaron the priest.
29	Of all your⁺ gifts you⁺ shall lift up every contribution of YHWH, from all its fat, its holy part from it.’	Out of all the gifts to you, you shall present every contribution due to the LORD; from each its best part is to be dedicated.’	You must present as the LORD’s portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you.’
30	And you shall say to them, ‘In your⁺ lifting up its fat, from it then it shall be reckoned to the Levites as the produce of the threshing floor, and as the produce of the winepress.	Therefore you shall say to them, ‘When you have offered from it the best of it, then the rest shall be counted to the Levites as produce of the threshing floor, and as produce of the winepress.	“Say to the Levites: ‘When you present the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the product of the threshing floor or the winepress.
31	And You⁺ may eat it in any place, you⁺ and your⁺ house, for it is a reward to you⁺ for your⁺ work in the Tent of Meeting.	And you may eat it in any place, you and your households, for it is your reward in return for your service in the tent of meeting.	You and your households may eat the rest of it anywhere, for it is your wages for your work at the tent of meeting.
32	And you⁺ shall not bear sin because of it, when you⁺ have lifted up its fat from it, and the holy gifts of the sons of Israel you⁺ shall not defile, lest you⁺ die.’”	And you shall bear no sin by reason of it, when you have contributed the best of it. But you shall not profane the holy things of the people of Israel, lest you die.’”	By presenting the best part of it you will not be guilty in this matter; then you will not defile the holy offerings of the Israelites, and you will not die.’”
