| 2 | Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος παιδίον ἔστησεν αὐτὸ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν | And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them | He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. | |
| 3 | καὶ εἶπεν Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ἐὰν μὴ στραφῆτε καὶ γένησθε ὡς τὰ παιδία οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν | and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. | And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. | |
| 4 | ὅστις οὖν ταπεινώσει ἑαυτὸν ὡς τὸ παιδίον τοῦτο οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ μείζων ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν | Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. | Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. | |
