Καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει Ἰησοῦς ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him. After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him.
ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς ἑορτὴ τῶν Ἰουδαίων σκηνοπηγία Now the Jews’ Feast of Booths was at hand. But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near,
εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ Μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου θεωρήσουσιν «τὰ ἔργα» σοῦ ποιεῖς So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do.
οὐδεὶς γάρ τι ἐν κρυπτῷ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῷ κόσμῳ For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”
οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπίστευον εἰς αὐτόν For not even his brothers believed in him. For even his own brothers did not believe in him.
