35 οὐχ ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι Ἔτι τετράμηνός ἐστιν καὶ θερισμὸς ἔρχεται ἰδοὺ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐπάρατε τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑμῶν καὶ θεάσασθε τὰς χώρας ὅτι λευκαί εἰσιν πρὸς θερισμόν ἤδη Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.
36 θερίζων μισθὸν λαμβάνει καὶ συνάγει καρπὸν εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον ἵνα σπείρων ὁμοῦ χαίρῃ καὶ θερίζων Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.
37 ἐν γὰρ τούτῳ λόγος ἐστὶν ἀληθινὸς ὅτι Ἄλλος ἐστὶν σπείρων καὶ ἄλλος θερίζων For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.
38 ἐγὼ ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς θερίζειν οὐχ ὑμεῖς κεκοπιάκατε ἄλλοι κεκοπιάκασιν καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν κόπον αὐτῶν εἰσεληλύθατε I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.” I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
