| 35 | οὐχ ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι Ἔτι τετράμηνός ἐστιν καὶ ὁ θερισμὸς ἔρχεται ἰδοὺ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐπάρατε τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑμῶν καὶ θεάσασθε τὰς χώρας ὅτι λευκαί εἰσιν πρὸς θερισμόν ἤδη | Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. | Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. | |
| 36 | Ὁ θερίζων μισθὸν λαμβάνει καὶ συνάγει καρπὸν εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον ἵνα ὁ σπείρων ὁμοῦ χαίρῃ καὶ ὁ θερίζων | Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. | Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. | |
| 37 | ἐν γὰρ τούτῳ ὁ λόγος ἐστὶν ἀληθινὸς ὅτι Ἄλλος ἐστὶν ὁ σπείρων καὶ ἄλλος ὁ θερίζων | For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ | Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. | |
| 38 | ἐγὼ ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς θερίζειν ὃ οὐχ ὑμεῖς κεκοπιάκατε ἄλλοι κεκοπιάκασιν καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν κόπον αὐτῶν εἰσεληλύθατε | I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.” | I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.” | |
