1	"Verily, verily, I say to you, he that enters not through the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.	“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.	“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2	But he that enters through the door is shepherd of the sheep.	But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.	The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3	To him the porter opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.	To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.	The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4	When he drives out all his own, he goes on before them, and the sheep follow him; because they know his voice.	When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.	When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5	But a stranger they will in no wise follow, but will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers."	A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”	But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
6	This parable spake Jesus to them; but they understood not what things they were which He spake to them.	This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.	Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.
7	Jesus, therefore, said to them again, "Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.	So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.	Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8	All who came before Me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.	All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.	All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.
9	I am the door; through Me if any one enter, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and find pasture.	I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.	I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.
10	The thief comes not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came, that they may have life, and that they may have it abundantly.	The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.	The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11	I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his soul for the sheep.	I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.	“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12	The hireling, who also is not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholds the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees (and the wolf seizes them, and scatters them );	He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.	The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
13	because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep.	He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.	The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14	I am the Good Shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know Me,	I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,	“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
15	even as the Father knoweth Me, and I know the Father; and I lay down My soul for the sheep.	just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.	just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16	And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and they shall become one flock, one Shepherd.	And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.	I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
17	On this account My Father loveth Me, because I lay down My soul, that I may take it again.	For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.	The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again.
18	No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. This commandment I received from My Father.	No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”	No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
19	There arose again a division among the Jews because of these words.	There was again a division among the Jews because of these words.	The Jews who heard these words were again divided.
20	And many of them said, "He hath a demon, and is mad; why do ye hear Him?"	Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?”	Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?”
21	Others said, "These are not the sayings of a demoniac. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"	Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”	But others said, “These are not the sayings of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
22	Then occurred the feast of dedication in Jerusalem; and it was winter;	At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter,	Then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter,
23	and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon's porch.	and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon.	and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade.
24	The Jews, therefore, came round about Him, and said to Him, "How long dost Thou hold us in suspense? If Thou art the Christ, tell us plainly."	So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”	The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25	Jesus answered them, "I told you, and ye did not believe: the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify concerning Me.	Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me,	Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,
26	But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep.	but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.	but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.
27	My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;	My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.	My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
28	and I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, nor shall any one snatch them out of My hand.	I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.	I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
29	My Father, Who hath given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.	My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.	My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
30	I and the Father are One."	I and the Father are one.”	I and the Father are one.”
31	The Jews took up stones again to stone Him.	The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.	Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him,
32	Jesus answered them, "Many good works did I show you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me?"	Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”	but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
33	The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we stone Thee not, but for blasphemy, and because, Thou, being a Man, makest Thyself God!"	The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”	“We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
34	Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your law, 'I said, ye are gods?'	Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?	Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods\|’?
35	If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),	If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—	If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside—
36	say ye of Him Whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God?	do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?	what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?
37	If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not;	If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;	Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father.
38	but, if I do them , even though ye believe not Me, believe the works; that ye may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."	but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”	But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
39	They were seeking, therefore, again to seize Him; and He went forth out of their hands.	Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.	Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp.
40	And He went away again beyond the Jordan unto the place where John was at first immersing; and there He abode.	He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained.	Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed,
41	And many came to Him, and said, "John, indeed, did no sign, but all things, whatsoever John spake concerning this Man, were true."	And many came to him. And they said, “John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.”	and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.”
42	And many believed on Him there.	And many believed in him there.	And in that place many believed in Jesus.
