1	The hand of Yahweh was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of Yahweh and caused me to rest in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones.	The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones.	The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.
2	He caused me to pass among them all around, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and behold, they were very dry.	And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.	He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.
3	He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord Yahweh, You know.”	And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.”	He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”
4	Then He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of Yahweh.’	Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.	Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
5	Thus says Lord Yahweh to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.	Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.	This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
6	I will put sinews on you, make flesh come up upon you, cover you with skin, and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am Yahweh.’”	And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”	I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
7	So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rumbling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.	So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.	So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.
8	And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh came up upon them, and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.	And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.	I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9	Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these who were killed, that they may come to life.”’”	Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”	Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”
10	So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great military force.	So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.	So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
11	Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’	Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’	Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’
12	Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.	Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.	Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
13	Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.	And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.	Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
14	And I will put My Spirit within you, and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken and done it,” declares Yahweh.’”	And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.”	I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’”
15	The word of Yahweh came again to me saying,	The word of the LORD came to me:	The word of the LORD came to me:
16	“Now as for you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’	“Son of man, take a stick and write on it, ‘For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’	“Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, ‘Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, ‘Belonging to Joseph (that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’
17	Then draw them together for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.	And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.	Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.
18	And when the sons of your people speak to you saying, ‘Will you not declare to us what you mean by these?’	And when your people say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’	“When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you tell us what you mean by this?’
19	say to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’	say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand.	say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph—which is in Ephraim’s hand—and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah’s stick. I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’
20	And the sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes.	When the sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes,	Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on
21	And speak to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;	then say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land.	and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.
22	and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms.	And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms.	I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.
23	They also will no longer defile themselves with their idols or with their detestable things or with any of their transgressions; but I will save them from all their places of habitation in which they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.	They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.	They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
24	“And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My judgments and keep My statutes and do them.	“My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.	“’My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.
25	They will inhabit the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, which your fathers inhabited; and they will inhabit it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever.	They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children’s children shall dwell there forever, and David my servant shall be their prince forever.	They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.
26	And I will cut a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will give them the land and multiply them and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever.	I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore.	I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.
27	My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.	My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.	My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.
28	And the nations will know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’”	Then the nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”	Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’”
