1 Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, The word of the LORD came to me: Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, The word of the LORD came to me:

3 and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O Mount Seir. I will stretch out My hand against you and make you a desolate waste. and say to it, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and a waste. And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I <i>am</i> against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. and say to it, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, And I will reach out with My hand against you And make you a desolation and a waste. and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.
4 I will turn your cities into ruins, and you will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I will lay your cities waste, and you shall become a desolation, and you shall know that I am the LORD. I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I <i>am</i> the LORD. “I will turn your cities to ruins, And you will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I will turn your towns into ruins and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
5 Because you harbored an ancient hatred and delivered the Israelites over to the sword in the time of their disaster at the final stage of their punishment, Because you cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment, Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed <i>the blood of</i> the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time <i>that their</i> iniquity <i>had</i> an end: Since you have had everlasting hostility and have turned over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their disaster, at the time of the punishment of the end, “’Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword at the time of their calamity, the time their punishment reached its climax,
6 therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, it will pursue you. therefore, as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; because you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood shall pursue you. Therefore, <i>as</i> I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. therefore as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “I will certainly doom you to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you; since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you. therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.
7 I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and will cut off from it those who come and go. I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation, and I will cut off from it all who come and go. Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation and I will eliminate from it one who passes through and returns. I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and cut off from it all who come and go.
8 I will fill its mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines. And I will fill its mountains with the slain. On your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain with the sword shall fall. And I will fill his mountains with his slain <i>men</i>: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. 9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I <i>am</i> the LORD. I will make you a permanent desolation, and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I will make you desolate forever; your towns will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
10 Because you have said, ‘These two nations and countries will be ours, and we will possess them,’ even though the LORD was there, “Because you said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them’—although the LORD was there— Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there: “Since you have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the LORD was there, “’Because you have said, “These two nations and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them,” even though I the LORD was there,
11 therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will treat you according to the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred against them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. therefore, as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy that you showed because of your hatred against them. And I will make myself known among them, when I judge you. Therefore, <i>as</i> I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. therefore as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “I will deal <i>with you</i> according to your anger and according to your envy which you displayed because of your hatred for them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.
12 Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard every contemptuous word you uttered against the mountains of Israel when you said, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to devour!’ And you shall know that I am the LORD. “I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they are given us to devour.’ And thou shalt know that I <i>am</i> the LORD, <i>and that</i> I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, ‘They are desolate; they have been given to us as food.’ Then you will know that I the LORD have heard all the contemptible things you have said against the mountains of Israel. You said, “They have been laid waste and have been given over to us to devour.”
13 You boasted against Me with your mouth and multiplied your words against Me. I heard it Myself! And you magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and multiplied your words against me; I heard it. Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard <i>them</i>. And you have spoken arrogantly against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I Myself have heard <i>it.</i>” You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it.
14 This is what the Lord GOD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. Thus says the Lord GOD: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. This is what the Lord GOD says: “As all the earth rejoices, I will make you a desolation. This is what the Sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.
15 As you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, so will I do to you. You will become a desolation, O Mount Seir, and so will all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD. As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD. As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, <i>even</i> all of it: and they shall know that I <i>am</i> the LORD. As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”’ Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’”
