1 AND you shall make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare; and the height thereof three cubits. “You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits broad. The altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits. “Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide.
2 And you shall make the horns of it on the four corners thereof; its horns shall be of the same; and you shall overlay it with brass. And you shall make horns for it on its four corners; its horns shall be of one piece with it, and you shall overlay it with bronze. Make a horn at each of the four corners, so that the horns and the altar are of one piece, and overlay the altar with bronze.
3 And you shall make pots for the use thereof; and its cauldrons and its shovels and its fleshhooks and censers, all the vessels thereof you shall make of brass. You shall make pots for it to receive its ashes, and shovels and basins and forks and fire pans. You shall make all its utensils of bronze. Make all its utensils of bronze—its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans.
4 You shall make for it a grating of network of brass; and upon the grating you shall make four rings of brass at its four corners. You shall also make for it a grating, a network of bronze, and on the net you shall make four bronze rings at its four corners. Make a grating for it, a bronze network, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the network.
5 And you shall put it under the ledge of the altar, that the grate may reach to the midst of the altar. And you shall set it under the ledge of the altar so that the net extends halfway down the altar. Put it under the ledge of the altar so that it is halfway up the altar.
6 And you shall make poles for the altar, poles of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass. And you shall make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze. Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze.
7 And the poles shall be put into the rings, and they shall be on both sides of the altar, when they carry it. And the poles shall be put through the rings, so that the poles are on the two sides of the altar when it is carried. The poles are to be inserted into the rings so they will be on two sides of the altar when it is carried.
8 Hollow with boards shall you make it; as I have shown you on the mountain, so shall they make it. You shall make it hollow, with boards. As it has been shown you on the mountain, so shall it be made. Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
9 And you shall make the court of the tabernacle; on the south side, there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side; “You shall make the court of the tabernacle. On the south side the court shall have hangings of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side. “Make a courtyard for the tabernacle. The south side shall be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains of finely twisted linen,
10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver. Its twenty pillars and their twenty bases shall be of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver. with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
11 And likewise for the north side there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, and its twenty pillars and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. And likewise for its length on the north side there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, its pillars twenty and their bases twenty, of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver. The north side shall also be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side there shall be hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten and their sockets ten. And for the breadth of the court on the west side there shall be hangings for fifty cubits, with ten pillars and ten bases. “The west end of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits wide and have curtains, with ten posts and ten bases.
13 And the breadth of the court on the east side shall be fifty cubits. The breadth of the court on the front to the east shall be fifty cubits. On the east end, toward the sunrise, the courtyard shall also be fifty cubits wide.
14 The hangings for one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits, their pillars three and their sockets three. The hangings for the one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three bases. Curtains fifteen cubits long are to be on one side of the entrance, with three posts and three bases,
15 And on the other side shall be fifteen hangings, their pillars three and their sockets three. On the other side the hangings shall be fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three bases. and curtains fifteen cubits long are to be on the other side, with three posts and three bases.
16 And for the gate of the court there shall be a hanging of twenty cubits of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twined linen made of embroidered work; and their pillars shall be four and their sockets four. For the gate of the court there shall be a screen twenty cubits long, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, embroidered with needlework. It shall have four pillars and with them four bases. “For the entrance to the courtyard, provide a curtain twenty cubits long, of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer—with four posts and four bases.
17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver and their sockets of brass. All the pillars around the court shall be filleted with silver. Their hooks shall be of silver, and their bases of bronze. All the posts around the courtyard are to have silver bands and hooks, and bronze bases.
18 The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, the breadth fifty everywhere, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen and their sockets of brass. The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, the breadth fifty, and the height five cubits, with hangings of fine twined linen and bases of bronze. The courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, with curtains of finely twisted linen five cubits high, and with bronze bases.
19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof and all the pins thereof and all the tent-pins of the court shall be of brass. All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, and all its pegs and all the pegs of the court, shall be of bronze. All the other articles used in the service of the tabernacle, whatever their function, including all the tent pegs for it and those for the courtyard, are to be of bronze.
20 And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure olive oil from beaten olives for the light, so that the lamps may burn always. “You shall command the people of Israel that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, that a lamp may regularly be set up to burn. “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning.
21 In the tabernacle of the congregation outside the veil which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall set them in order burning from evening to morning before the LORD; it shall be a statute for ever to your generations from the children of Israel. In the tent of meeting, outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before the LORD. It shall be a statute forever to be observed throughout their generations by the people of Israel. In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the LORD from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
