Looking intently at him, he became afraid and said, “What is it, lord?” The angel told him, “Your prayers and your acts of charity have come up as a memorial offering before God. 6 He is lodging with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.” He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.” He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. he is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the sea.”
When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among those who attended him, When the angel who spoke to him had gone, he called two of his household slaves and a devout soldier, who was one of those who attended him. And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; When the angel who spoke to him left, he summoned two of his servants and a devout soldier from his personal attendants,

The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: On the next day, as they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray.
And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance Then he became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing something, he went into a visionary state. And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, But he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance;
and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. He saw heaven opened and an object that resembled a large sheet coming down, being lowered by its four corners to the earth. And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground,
In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. In it were all the four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth, and the birds of the sky. Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. and on it were all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the sky.
And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” Then a voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat!|” And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. A voice came to him, “Get up, Peter, kill and eat!”
But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” No, Lord!” Peter said. “For I have never eaten anything common and ritually unclean!” But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.”
And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” Again, a second time, a voice said to him, “What God has made clean, you must not call common.” And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Again a voice came to him a second time, “What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.”
This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven. This happened three times, and then the object was taken up into heaven. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.
Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood at the gate While Peter was deeply perplexed about what the vision he had seen might mean, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions to Simon’s house, stood at the gate. Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate, Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius had asked directions to Simon’s house, and they appeared at the gate;
and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. They called out, asking if Simon, who was also named Peter, was lodging there. And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there.
And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. While Peter was thinking about the vision, the Spirit told him, “Three men are here looking for you. While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.
Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.” Get up, go downstairs, and accompany them with no doubts at all, because I have sent them.” Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself.”
And Peter went down to the men and said, “I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming?” Then Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the one you’re looking for. What is the reason you’re here?” Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? Peter went down to the men and said, “Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?”
And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.” They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely directed by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear a message from you.” And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee. They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you.”
So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. Peter then invited them in and gave them lodging. The next day he got up and set out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went with him. Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him. So he invited them in and gave them lodging. Now on the next day he got ready and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
And on the following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. The following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends. On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him. And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him.
But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am a man.” But Peter helped him up and said, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.” But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. But Peter helped him up, saying, “Stand up; I, too, am just a man.”
And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered. While talking with him, he went on in and found that many had come together there. And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together. As he talked with him, he entered and found many people assembled.
And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean. Peter said to them, “You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner. But God has shown me that I must not call any person common or unclean. And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. And he said to them, “You yourselves know that it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner; and yet God has shown me that I am not to call any person unholy or unclean.
So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me.” That’s why I came without any objection when I was sent for. So I ask: Why did you send for me?” Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me? That is why I came without even raising any objection when I was sent for. So I ask, for what reason did you send for me?”
And Cornelius said, “Four days ago, about this hour, I was praying in my house at the ninth hour, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing Cornelius replied, “Four days ago at this hour, at three in the afternoon, I was praying in my house. Just then a man in a dazzling robe stood before me And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, Cornelius said, “Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour; and behold, a man stood before me in shining clothing,
and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered in God’s sight. And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. and he said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your charitable gifts have been remembered before God.
Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’ Therefore send someone to Joppa and invite Simon here, who is also named Peter. He is lodging in Simon the tanner’s house by the sea.’ Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee. Therefore send some men to Joppa and invite Simon, who is also called Peter, to come to you; he is staying at the house of Simon the tanner, by the sea.’
So I sent for you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here in the presence of God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord.” Therefore I immediately sent for you, and you did the right thing in coming. So we are all present before God, to hear everything you have been commanded by the Lord.” Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God. So I sent men to you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here present before God to hear everything that you have been commanded by the Lord.”
So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, Then Peter began to speak: “Now I really understand that God doesn’t show favoritism, Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. but in every nation the person who fears Him and does righteousness is acceptable to Him. But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.
As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all), He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)—
you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: You know the events that took place throughout Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached: That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; you yourselves know the thing that happened throughout Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed.
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the Devil, because God was with Him. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, We ourselves are witnesses of everything He did in both the Judean country and in Jerusalem, yet they killed Him by hanging Him on a tree. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: We are witnesses of all the things that He did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.
but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, God raised up this man on the third day and permitted Him to be seen, Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He be revealed,
not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. not by all the people, but by us, witnesses appointed beforehand by God, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. not to all the people, but to witnesses who had been chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.
And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to solemnly testify that He is the One appointed by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. And He ordered us to preach to the people, and to testify solemnly that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.
To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” All the prophets testify about Him that through His name everyone who believes in Him will receive forgiveness of sins.” To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. All the prophets testify of Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”
While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who heard the message. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.
And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astounded because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. All the Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been poured out on the Gentiles.
For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, For they heard them speaking in other languages and declaring the greatness of God. Then Peter responded, “ For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter responded,
“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” Can anyone withhold water and prevent these people from being baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days. And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days. And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.
