2 He was a devout man and feared God along with his whole household. He did many charitable deeds for the Jewish people and always prayed to God. a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.
3 About three in the afternoon he distinctly saw in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius.” About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius.” One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”
4 Staring at him in awe, he said, “What is it, Lord? ” The angel told him, “Your prayers and your acts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God. And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God. Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.
5 Now send men to Joppa and call for Simon, who is also named Peter. And now send men to Joppa and bring one Simon who is called Peter. Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter.

14 “No, Lord! ” Peter said. “For I have never eaten anything impure and ritually unclean.” But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
15 Again, a second time, the voice said to him, “What God has made clean, do not call impure.” And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
16 This happened three times, and suddenly the object was taken up into heaven. This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven. This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
17 While Peter was deeply perplexed about what the vision he had seen might mean, right away the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions to Simon’s house, stood at the gate. 22 They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely directed by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear a message from you.” And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.” The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to ask you to come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.”
23 Peter then invited them in and gave them lodging. The next day he got up and set out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went with him. So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along.
24 The following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. And on the following day they entered Caesarea. He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.
29 That’s why I came without any objection when I was sent for. So may I ask why you sent for me? ” So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me.” So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”
30 Cornelius replied, “Four days ago at this hour, at three in the afternoon, I was praying in my house. Just then a man in dazzling clothing stood before me And Cornelius said, “Four days ago, about this hour, I was praying in my house at the ninth hour, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing Cornelius answered: “Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me
31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered in God’s sight. and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor.
32 Therefore send someone to Joppa and invite Simon here, who is also named Peter. He is lodging in Simon the tanner’s house by the sea.’ Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’ Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’
33 So I immediately sent for you, and it was good of you to come. 36 He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all. As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all), You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
37 You know the events that took place throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached: you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached—

They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”
48 He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days. And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
