And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.	Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.
5	Now send men to Joppa to call for a man named Simon who is called Peter.	And now send men to Joppa and bring one Simon who is called Peter.	Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter.

15	The voice spoke to him a second time: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”	And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.”	The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

17	While Peter was puzzling over the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found Simon’s house and approached the gate.	Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood at the gate	While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate.

19	As Peter continued to reflect on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. 21	So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here am I, the one you are looking for. Why have you come?”	And Peter went down to the men and said, “I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming?”	Peter went down and said to the men, “I’m the one you’re looking for. Why have you come?”
22	“Cornelius the centurion has sent us,” they said. “He is a righteous and God-fearing man with a good reputation among the whole Jewish nation. A holy angel instructed him to request your presence in his home so he could hear a message from you.”	And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.”	The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to ask you to come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.”
23	So Peter invited them in as his guests. And the next day he got ready and went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Joppa.	So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.	Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along.
24	The following day he arrived in Caesarea, where Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.	And on the following day they entered Caesarea. 27	As Peter talked with him, he went inside and found many people gathered together.	And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered.	While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people.
28	He said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with a foreigner or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.	And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.	He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.
29	So when I was invited, I came without objection. I ask, then, why have you sent for me?”	So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me.”	So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”
30	Cornelius answered: “Four days ago I was in my house praying at this, the ninth hour. 31	and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been remembered before God.	and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God.	and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor.
32	Therefore send to Joppa for Simon, who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, by the sea.’	Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. 33	So I sent for you immediately, and you were kind enough to come. 35	but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.	but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.	but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.
36	He has sent this message to the people of Israel, proclaiming the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.	As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),	You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
37	You yourselves know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John proclaimed:	you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed:	You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached—

They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”
48	So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days.	And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
