1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
2 Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue, His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
4 by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 5 Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6 and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness; and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;

8 For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to not be idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
10 Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,
11 For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
12 Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth. Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.
13 I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,
14 knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.
15 Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure. 16 For we didn’t follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,” He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
18 We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.
19 We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts, And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation. knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
