1 The sons of Judah: Pherez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal. The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal. The descendants of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur and Shobal.
2 And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath; and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zoreathites. Reaiah the son of Shobal fathered Jahath, and Jahath fathered Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites. Reaiah son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.
3 And these [were of] the father of Etam: Jizreel, and Jishma, and Jidbash; and the name of their sister was Hazlelponi; These were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi, These were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma and Idbash. Their sister was named Hazzelelponi.
4 and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, [and] father of Bethlehem. and Penuel fathered Gedor, and Ezer fathered Hushah. These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem. Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These were the descendants of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah and father of Bethlehem.
5 And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah And Naarah. Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, had two wives, Helah and Naarah; Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

9 And Jabez was more honoured than his brethren; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with pain. Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.”
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, Oh that thou wouldest richly bless me, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God brought about what he had requested. Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
11 And Chelub the brother of Shuah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, fathered Mehir, who fathered Eshton. Kelub, Shuhah’s brother, was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12 And Eshton begot Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the city of Nahash: these were the men of Rechah. Eshton fathered Beth-rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir-nahash. These are the men of Recah. Eshton was the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These were the men of Rekah.
13 -- And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah; and the sons of Othniel: Hathath. The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah; and the sons of Othniel: Hathath and Meonothai. The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath and Meonothai.
14 And Meonothai begot Ophrah: and Seraiah begot Joab, the father of the valley of craftsmen; for they were craftsmen. Meonothai fathered Ophrah; and Seraiah fathered Joab, the father of Ge-harashim, so-called because they were craftsmen. Meonothai was the father of Ophrah. Seraiah was the father of Joab, the father of Ge Harashim. It was called this because its people were skilled workers.
15 -- And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah, ... and Kenaz. The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the son of Elah: Kenaz. The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.

17 -- And the sons of Ezra: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she conceived [and bore] Miriam, and Shammai, and Jishbah the father of Eshtemoa. The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. These are the sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married; and she conceived and bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa. The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher and Jalon. One of Mered’s wives gave birth to Miriam, Shammai and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 And his wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh whom Mered took. And his Judahite wife bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. (His wife from the tribe of Judah gave birth to Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soko, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.) These were the children of Pharaoh’s daughter Bithiah, whom Mered had married.
19 And the sons of the wife of Hodijah, the sister of Naham: the father of Keilah the Garmite, And Eshtemoa the Maachathite. The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Maacathite. The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham: the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maakathite.
20 And the sons of Shimon: Amnon And Rinnah, Ben-hanan And Tilon. And the sons of Jishi: Zoheth And Ben-Zoheth. The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Ben-zoheth. The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan and Tilon. The descendants of Ishi: Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lechah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of byssus-workers, of the house of Ashbea, The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the clans of the house of linen workers at Beth-ashbea; The sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er the father of Lekah, Laadah the father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea,
22 and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled over Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things. and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and returned to Lehem (now the records are ancient). Jokim, the men of Kozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi Lehem. (These records are from ancient times.)
23 These were the potters, and those that abode among plantations and enclosures: there they dwelt with the king for his work. These were the potters who were inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah. They lived there in the king’s service. They were the potters who lived at Netaim and Gederah; they stayed there and worked for the king.
24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, [and] Saul; The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul; The descendants of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah and Shaul;

39 And they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks. 42 And five hundred men of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to mount Seir, having at their head Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Jishi, And some of them, five hundred men of the Simeonites, went to Mount Seir, having as their leaders Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi. And five hundred of these Simeonites, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, invaded the hill country of Seir.
43 and they smote the rest of the Amalekites that had escaped; and they dwelt there unto this day. And they defeated the remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day. They killed the remaining Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.
