Psalm 33
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
Let the godly sing for joy to the LORD; it is fitting for the pure to praise him.1Rejoice in the LORD, righteous ones; for the praise of the upright is beautiful.
Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp.2With the lyre, give thanks to the LORD; with the ten stringed harp, play music to him;
Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.3with a new song, sing to him; with shouts of joy, play skillfully.
For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does.4For the word of the LORD is upright; and all his works are done in faithfulness.
He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.5He loves righteousness and justice; the world is filled with the gracious love of the LORD.
The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.6By the word of the LORD the heavens were made; all the heavenly bodies by the breath of his mouth.
He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.7He gathered the oceans into a single place; he put the deep water into storehouses.
Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him.8Let all the world fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him;
For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.9because he spoke and it came to be, because he commanded, it stood firm.
The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes.10The LORD makes void the counsel of nations; he frustrates the plans of peoples.
But the LORD’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken.11But the LORD's counsel stands firm forever, the plans in his mind for all generations.
What joy for the nation whose God is the LORD, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.12How blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen as his own inheritance.
The LORD looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.13When the LORD looks down from heaven, he observes every human being.
From his throne he observes all who live on the earth.14From his dwelling place, he looks down on all the inhabitants of the earth.
He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do.15He formed the hearts of them all; he understands everything they do.
The best-equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior.16A king is not saved by a large army; a mighty soldier is not delivered by his great strength.
Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory— for all its strength, it cannot save you.17It is vain to trust in a horse for deliverance, even with its great strength, it cannot deliver.
But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.18Indeed, the LORD watches those who fear him; those who trust in his gracious love
He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.19to deliver them from death; to keep them alive in times of famine.
We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield.20We wait on the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.21Indeed, our heart will rejoice in him, because we have placed our trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone.22LORD, may your gracious love be upon us, even as we hope in you.
