Of David. Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. | 1A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. |
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- | 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: |
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, | 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; |
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, | 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; |
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. | 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. |
The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. | 6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. |
He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: | 7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. |
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. | 8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. |
He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; | 9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. |
he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. | 10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. |
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; | 11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. |
as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. | 12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. |
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; | 13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. |
for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. | 14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. |
The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; | 15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. |
the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. | 16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. |
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children-- | 17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; |
with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. | 18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. |
The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. | 19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. |
Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. | 20Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. |
Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. | 21Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. |
Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the LORD, my soul. | 22Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. |
