Psalm 83
NASB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995English Standard Version
A Song, a Psalm of Asaph. O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.1O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves.2For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads.
They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones.3They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones.
They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more."4They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant:5For they conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant—
The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites;6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,
Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.8Asshur also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. Selah
Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera and Jabin at the torrent of Kishon,9Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
Who were destroyed at En-dor, Who became as dung for the ground.10who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground.
Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
Who said, "Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God."12who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.”
O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like chaff before the wind.13O my God, make them like whirling dust, like chaff before the wind.
Like fire that burns the forest And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,14As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,
So pursue them with Your tempest And terrify them with Your storm.15so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane!
Fill their faces with dishonor, That they may seek Your name, O LORD.16Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O LORD.
Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever, And let them be humiliated and perish,17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace,
That they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.18that they may know that you alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth.
