| 1You nations, come here and listen; you peoples, pay attention! Let the earth hear, and all that fills it, the world and all that comes from it. | 1Come near, you nations, and listen! Pay attention, you people! The earth and everything it contains must listen, the world and everything that lives in it. |
| 2The LORD is angry with all the nations-- furious with all their armies. He will set them apart for destruction, giving them over to slaughter. | 2For the LORD is angry at all the nations and furious with all their armies. He will annihilate them and slaughter them. |
| 3Their slain will be thrown out, and the stench of their corpses will rise; the mountains will flow with their blood. | 3Their slain will be left unburied, their corpses will stink; the hills will soak up their blood. |
| 4All the heavenly bodies will dissolve. | 14The desert creatures will meet hyenas, and one wild goat will call to another. | 15The sand partridge will make her nest there; she will lay and hatch her eggs and will gather her brood under her shadow. Yes, hawks will gather there, each with its mate. |
| 16Search and read the scroll of the LORD: Not one of them will be missing, none will be lacking its mate, because He has ordered it by my mouth, and He will gather them by His Spirit. | 16Carefully read the scroll of the LORD! Not one of these creatures will be missing, none will lack a mate. For the LORD has issued the decree, and his own spirit gathers them. |
| 17He has ordained a lot for them; His hand allotted their portion with a measuring line. They will possess it forever; they will dwell in it from generation to generation. | 17He assigns them their allotment; he measures out their assigned place. They will live there permanently; they will settle in it through successive generations. |
