Christian Standard Bible | New Living Translation |
My soul, bless the LORD, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. | 1Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. |
My soul, bless the LORD, and do not forget all his benefits. | 2Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. |
He forgives all your iniquity; he heals all your diseases. | 3He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. |
He redeems your life from the Pit; he crowns you with faithful love and compassion. | 4He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. |
He satisfies you with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle. | 5He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! |
The LORD executes acts of righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. | 6The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. |
He revealed his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel. | 7He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. |
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love. | 8The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. |
He will not always accuse us or be angry forever. | 9He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. |
He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our iniquities. | 10He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. |
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him. | 11For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. |
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. | 12He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. |
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. | 13The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. |
For he knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust. | 14For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. |
As for man, his days are like grass--he blooms like a flower of the field; | 15Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. |
when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known. | 16The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. |
But from eternity to eternity the LORD's faithful love is toward those who fear him, and his righteousness toward the grandchildren | 17But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children |
of those who keep his covenant, who remember to observe his precepts. | 18of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! |
The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. | 19The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. |
Bless the LORD, all his angels of great strength, who do his word, obedient to his command. | 20Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. |
Bless the LORD, all his armies, his servants who do his will. | 21Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! |
Bless the LORD, all his works in all the places where he rules. My soul, bless the LORD! | 22Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD. |
