Berean Study Bible | New Living Translation |
A song. A Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my being. | 1My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! |
Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. |
I will praise You, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples. | 3I will thank you, LORD, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. |
For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. | 4For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth. | 5Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. |
Respond and save us with Your right hand, that Your beloved may be delivered. | 6Now rescue your beloved people. Answer and save us by your power. |
God has spoken from His sanctuary: “I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem and apportion the Valley of Succoth. | 7God has promised this by his holiness : “I will divide up Shechem with joy. I will measure out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is My helmet, Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead is mine, and Manasseh, too. Ephraim, my helmet, will produce my warriors, and Judah, my scepter, will produce my kings. |
Moab is My washbasin; upon Edom I toss My sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” | 9But Moab, my washbasin, will become my servant, and I will wipe my feet on Edom and shout in triumph over Philistia.” |
Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will bring me victory over Edom? |
Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies? | 11Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies? |
Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. | 12Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. |
With God we will perform with valor, and He will trample our enemies. | 13With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes. |
