A song. A Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my being. | 1A Song or Psalm of David. O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. |
Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. |
I will praise You, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples. | 3I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. |
For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. | 4For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth. | 5Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; |
Respond and save us with Your right hand, that Your beloved may be delivered. | 6That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. |
God has spoken from His sanctuary: “I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem and apportion the Valley of Succoth. | 7God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is My helmet, Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; |
Moab is My washbasin; upon Edom I toss My sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” | 9Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph. |
Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? |
Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies? | 11Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? |
Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. | 12Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. |
With God we will perform with valor, and He will trample our enemies. | 13Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. |
