1 A psalm on Solomon. Give the king your justice, O God, and your righteousness to the royal son! Of Solomon. Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.
2 Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment. May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice! May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.
3 Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice. Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness! May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.
4 He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor. May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor! May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor.
5 And he shall continue with the sun, and before the moon, throughout all generations. May they fear you while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations! May he endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth. May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth! May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.
7 In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway. In his days may the righteous flourish, and peace abound, till the moon be no more! In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
8 And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. May he have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth! May he rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground. May desert tribes bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust! May the desert tribes bow before him and his enemies lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts: May the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands render him tribute; may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts! May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores bring tribute to him. May the kings of Sheba and Seba present him gifts.
11 And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him. May all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him! May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him.
12 For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper. For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and him who has no helper. For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor. He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.
14 He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight. From oppression and violence he redeems their life, and precious is their blood in his sight. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.
15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day. Long may he live; may gold of Sheba be given to him! May prayer be made for him continually, and blessings invoked for him all the day! Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long.
16 And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted : and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth. May there be abundance of grain in the land; on the tops of the mountains may it wave; may its fruit be like Lebanon; and may people blossom in the cities like the grass of the field! May grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. May the crops flourish like Lebanon and thrive like the grass of the field.
17 Let his name be blessed for evermore : his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him. May his name endure forever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed! May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. Then all nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.
18 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things. Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.
19 And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it. Blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and Amen! Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.
20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended. The prayers of David, the son of Jesse, are ended. This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse.
