3 I thank my God every time I remember you. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, I thank my God every time I remember you.
4 I always pray with joy in my every prayer for all of you always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy
5 because of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,
6 For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 For it is right for me to think this about all of you, because I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel all of you became partners in God's grace together with me. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.
8 For God is my witness that I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
10 so that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

13 The whole imperial guard and everyone else knows that I am in prison for the sake of Christ, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 and most of the brothers and sisters, having confidence in the Lord because of my imprisonment, now more than ever dare to speak the word fearlessly. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
15 Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from goodwill. Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.

17 The former proclaim Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, because they think they can cause trouble for me in my imprisonment. 20 My confident hope is that I will in no way be ashamed but that with complete boldness, even now as always, Christ will be exalted in my body, whether I live or die. as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
22 Now if I am to go on living in the body, this will mean productive work for me, yet I don't know which I prefer: If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!
23 I feel torn between the two, because I have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far, I am hard pressed between the two. 24 but it is more vital for your sake that I remain in the body. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that--whether I come and see you or whether I remain absent--I should hear that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, by contending side by side for the faith of the gospel, Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
28 and by not being intimidated in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of their destruction, but of your salvation--a sign which is from God. and not frightened in anything by your opponents. 30 since you are encountering the same conflict that you saw me face and now hear that I am facing. engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have. since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
