1 The leaders of the people who lived in Jerusalem, along with the rest of the people, decided to choose one out of ten of them by lot to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, leaving the other nine of them in their towns. Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem. And the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem the holy city, while nine out of ten remained in the other towns. Now the leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten of them to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the remaining nine were to stay in their own towns.
2 And the people blessed all of the men who volunteered to live in Jerusalem. And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem. The people commended all who volunteered to live in Jerusalem.
3 These are the leaders of the provinces who lived in Jerusalem. Some lived in the towns of Judah—each on their property in their respective towns—that is, the Israelis, the priests, the descendants of Levi, the Temple Servants, and the descendants of Solomon's servants. These are the chiefs of the province who lived in Jerusalem; but in the towns of Judah everyone lived on his property in their towns: Israel, the priests, the Levites, the temple servants, and the descendants of Solomon’s servants. These are the provincial leaders who settled in Jerusalem (now some Israelites, priests, Levites, temple servants and descendants of Solomon’s servants lived in the towns of Judah, each on their own property in the various towns,
4 Some of the descendants of Judah and Benjamin lived in Jerusalem. From Judah's Descendants: Uzziah's son Athaiah, who was the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel; From Perez's Descendants And in Jerusalem lived certain of the sons of Judah and of the sons of Benjamin. 14 along with their relatives, 128 mighty, valiant men, and their overseer Zabdiel son of Haggedolim. and their brothers, mighty men of valor, 128; their overseer was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim. and his associates, who were men of standing—128. Their chief officer was Zabdiel son of Haggedolim.

Uzzi was one of Asaph’s descendants, who were the musicians responsible for the service of the house of God.
23 They were subject to the commands of the king, who provided for the singers daily. For there was a command from the king concerning them, and a fixed provision for the singers, as every day required. The musicians were under the king’s orders, which regulated their daily activity.
24 Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, a descendant of Zerah son of Judah, represented the king in all matters concerning the people. And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king’s side in all matters concerning the people. Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, one of the descendants of Zerah son of Judah, was the king’s agent in all affairs relating to the people.
