| 1 | Now, O daughter of troops, mobilize your troops; for a siege is laid against us! With a rod they will strike the cheek of the judge of Israel. | Now muster your troops, O daughter of troops; siege is laid against us; with a rod they strike the judge of Israel on the cheek. | Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. | “Now muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops; They have laid siege against us; With a rod they will strike the judge of Israel on the cheek. | Marshal your troops now, city of troops, for a siege is laid against us. | 2 | But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me One to be ruler over Israel One whose origins are of old, from the days of eternity. | But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days. | But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, <i>though</i> thou be little among the thousands of Judah, <i>yet</i> out of thee shall he come forth unto me <i>that is</i> to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth <i>have been</i> from of old, from everlasting. | “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, <i>Too</i> little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will come forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. | 8 | Then the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which tramples and tears as it passes through, with no one to rescue them. | And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver. | And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. | The remnant of Jacob Will be among the nations, Among many peoples Like a lion among the animals of the forest, Like a young lion among flocks of sheep, Which, if he passes through, Tramples and tears, And there is no one who can rescue. | The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no one can rescue. |

| 10 | “ In that day,” declares the LORD, “I will remove your horses from among you and wreck your chariots. | And in that day, declares the LORD, I will cut off your horses from among you and will destroy your chariots; | And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots: | “And it will be on that day,” declares the LORD, “That I will eliminate your horses from among you, And destroy your chariots. | “In that day,” declares the LORD, “I will destroy your horses from among you and demolish your chariots. |
| 11 | I will remove the cities of your land and tear down all your strongholds. | and I will cut off the cities of your land and throw down all your strongholds; | And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds: | “I will also eliminate the cities of your land, And tear down all your fortifications. | I will destroy the cities of your land and tear down all your strongholds. |
| 12 | I will cut the sorceries from your hand, and you will have no fortune-tellers. | and I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes; | And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no <i>more</i> soothsayers: | “I will eliminate sorceries from your hand, And you will have no fortune-tellers. | I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells. |
| 13 | I will also cut off the carved images and sacred pillars from among you, so that you will no longer bow down to the work of your own hands. | and I will cut off your carved images and your pillars from among you, and you shall bow down no more to the work of your hands; | Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands. | “I will eliminate your carved images And your memorial stones from among you, So that you will no longer bow down To the work of your hands. | I will destroy your idols and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands. |
