| 9 | τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον εἰπεῖν τῷ παραλυτικῷ Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἢ εἰπεῖν Ἔγειρε καὶ ἆρον τὸν κράβαττόν σου καὶ περιπάτει | Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? | Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? | |
| 10 | ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου «ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας» «ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς» λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ | But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— | But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, | |
| 11 | Σοὶ λέγω ἔγειρε ἆρον τὸν κράβαττόν σου καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου | “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” | “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” | |
