15 and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out.
16 Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak. and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
17 But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days! And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
18 Pray that your flight won’t be in the winter. Pray that it may not happen in winter. Pray that this will not take place in winter,
19 For in those days there will be oppression, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be. because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again.
20 Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days. And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he shortened the days. “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
21 Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ don’t believe it. And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.
22 For false christs and false prophets will arise and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
23 But you watch. “Behold, I have told you all things beforehand. But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

28 “Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. 35 Watch therefore, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming—whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning; Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
36 lest, coming suddenly, he might find you sleeping. lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
37 What I tell you, I tell all: Watch!” And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.” What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”
