But when you⁺ shall see the ‘abomination of the desolation’ standing where it should not (the one reading, let him understand), then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; “But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
and the one upon the housetop, let him not come down nor go in to take up anything out of his house; Let the one who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out.
and the one in the field, let him not return to the things behind to take away his garment. and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
And woe to those having in womb and to those nursing in those days! And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
And pray that it might not be in winter, Pray that it may not happen in winter. Pray that this will not take place in winter,
for those days will be tribulation such as has not been from the beginning of creation that God created until now, and never shall be. For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be. because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again.
And if the Lord did not shorten the days, not any flesh would have been saved; but because of the chosen whom He chose, He shortened the days. And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he shortened the days. “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
And then if anyone shall say to you⁺, ‘Behold, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Behold, there!’ do not believe it. And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.
For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders in order to lead astray, if possible, the chosen. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
But you⁺ take heed; I have forewarned you⁺ of all things. But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.
But in those days, after that tribulation: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light; “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, “But in those days, following that distress, “’the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
and the stars will be falling out of the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.’ and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
And then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
And then He will send the angels, and He will gather together His chosen from the four winds, from the end of earth to the end of heaven. And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.
And from the fig tree, learn the parable: When its branch already shall have become tender, and it puts forth leaves, you⁺ know that summer is near. “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
So also you⁺, when you⁺ see these things coming to pass, know that He is near, at the doors. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.
Truly I say to you⁺ that this generation shall not have passed away until all these things shall have come to pass. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
But concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, except the Father. “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Take heed; stay awake! For you⁺ do not know when the time is. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
It is like a man going on a journey, having left his house and having given his servants authority, to each his work. And he commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
Therefore watch, for you⁺ do not know when the master of the house comes—either at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or morning— Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
lest, having come suddenly, he should find you⁺ sleeping. lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
And what I say to you⁺, I say to all: Watch!” And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.” What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”
