2	τρέχει οὖν καὶ ἔρχεται πρὸς Σίμωνα Πέτρον καὶ πρὸς τὸν ἄλλον μαθητὴν ὃν ἐφίλει ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Ἦραν τὸν Κύριον ἐκ τοῦ μνημείου καὶ οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ἔθηκαν αὐτόν	So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”	So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
3	Ἐξῆλθεν οὖν ὁ Πέτρος καὶ ὁ ἄλλος μαθητής καὶ ἤρχοντο εἰς τὸ μνημεῖον	So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb.	So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.
4	ἔτρεχον δὲ οἱ δύο ὁμοῦ καὶ ὁ ἄλλος μαθητὴς προέδραμεν τάχιον τοῦ Πέτρου καὶ ἦλθεν πρῶτος εἰς τὸ μνημεῖον	Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.	Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
5	καὶ παρακύψας βλέπει κείμενα τὰ ὀθόνια οὐ μέντοι εἰσῆλθεν	And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.	He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.
6	Ἔρχεται οὖν καὶ Σίμων Πέτρος ἀκολουθῶν αὐτῷ καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸ μνημεῖον καὶ θεωρεῖ τὰ ὀθόνια κείμενα	Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there,	Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,
7	καὶ τὸ σουδάριον ὃ ἦν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ οὐ μετὰ τῶν ὀθονίων κείμενον ἀλλὰ χωρὶς ἐντετυλιγμένον εἰς ἕνα τόπον	and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.	as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.
8	τότε οὖν εἰσῆλθεν καὶ ὁ ἄλλος μαθητὴς ὁ ἐλθὼν πρῶτος εἰς τὸ μνημεῖον καὶ εἶδεν καὶ ἐπίστευσεν	Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed;	Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
9	οὐδέπω γὰρ ᾔδεισαν τὴν γραφὴν ὅτι δεῖ αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστῆναι	for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.	(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
