1	“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who is not entering through the door to the fold of the sheep, but is going up from another side, that one is a thief and a robber;	“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.	“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2	and he who is entering through the door is shepherd of the sheep;	But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.	The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3	the doorkeeper opens to this one, and the sheep hear his voice, and his own sheep he calls by name, and leads them forth;	To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.	The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4	and when he may put forth his own sheep, he goes on before them, and the sheep follow him, because they have known his voice;	When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.	When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5	and they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, because they have not known the voice of strangers.”	A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”	But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
6	Jesus spoke this allegory to them, and they did not know what the things were that He was speaking to them;	This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.	Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.
7	Jesus therefore said again to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I AM the door of the sheep;	So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.	Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8	all, as many as came before Me, are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them;	All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.	All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.
9	I AM the door, if anyone may come in through Me, he will be saved, and he will come in, and go out, and find pasture.	I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.	I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.
10	The thief does not come, except that he may steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.	The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.	The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11	I AM the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays His life down for the sheep;	I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.	“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12	and the hired worker, and not being a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholds the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf snatches them, and scatters the sheep;	He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.	The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
13	and the hired worker flees because he is a hired worker, and is not caring for the sheep.	He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.	The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14	I AM the good shepherd, and I know My [sheep], and am known by Mine,	I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,	“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
15	according as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father, and My life I lay down for the sheep,	just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.	just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16	and other sheep I have that are not of this fold, these also it is necessary for Me to bring, and My voice they will hear, and there will become one flock—one shepherd.	And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.	I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
17	Because of this the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, that again I may take it;	For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.	The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again.
18	no one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself; authority I have to lay it down, and authority I have again to take it; this command I received from My Father.”	No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”	No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
19	Therefore, again, there came a division among the Jews, because of these words,	There was again a division among the Jews because of these words.	The Jews who heard these words were again divided.
20	and many of them said, “He has a demon, and is mad, why do you hear Him?”	Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?”	Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?”
21	Others said, “These sayings are not those of a demoniac; is a demon able to open blind men’s eyes?”	Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”	But others said, “These are not the sayings of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
22	And the Dedication in Jerusalem came, and it was winter,	At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter,	Then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter,
23	and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the porch of Solomon,	and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon.	and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade.
24	the Jews, therefore, came around Him and said to Him, “Until when do You hold our soul in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us freely.”	So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”	The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25	Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in the Name of My Father, these testify concerning Me;	Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me,	Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,
26	but you do not believe, for you are not of My sheep,	but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.	but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.
27	according as I said to you: My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me,	My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.	My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
28	and I give continuous life to them, and they will not perish—throughout the age, and no one will snatch them out of My hand;	I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.	I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
29	My Father, who has given to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch out of the hand of My Father;	My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.	My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
30	I and the Father are one.”	I and the Father are one.”	I and the Father are one.”
31	Therefore, again, the Jews took up stones that they may stone Him;	The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.	Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him,
32	Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from My Father; because of which work of them do you stone Me?”	Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”	but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
33	The Jews answered Him, saying, “We do not stone You for a good work, but for slander, and because You, being a man, make Yourself God.”	The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”	“We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
34	Jesus answered them, “Is it not having been written in your law: I said, you are gods?	Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?	Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods\|’?
35	If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the Writing is not able to be broken),	If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—	If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside—
36	of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, do you say—You slander, because I said, I am [the] Son of God?	do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?	what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?
37	If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;	If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;	Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father.
38	and if I do, even if you may not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and may believe that the Father [is] in Me, and I in Him.”	but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”	But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
39	Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, and He went forth out of their hand,	Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.	Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp.
40	and went away again to the other side of the Jordan, to the place where John was at first immersing, and remained there,	He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained.	Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed,
41	and many came to Him and said, “John, indeed, did no sign, and all things, as many as John said about this One were true”;	And many came to him. And they said, “John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.”	and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.”
42	and many believed in Him there.	And many believed in him there.	And in that place many believed in Jesus.
