1 זֶ֣ה סֵ֔פֶר תּוֹלְדֹ֖ת אָדָ֑ם בְּי֗וֹם בְּרֹ֤א אֱלֹהִים֙ אָדָ֔ם בִּדְמ֥וּת אֱלֹהִ֖ים עָשָׂ֥ה אֹתֽוֹ׃ This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness. This [is] the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה בְּרָאָ֑ם וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ אֹתָ֗ם וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֶת־ שְׁמָם֙ אָדָ֔ם בְּי֖וֹם הִבָּֽרְאָֽם׃ ס Male and female He created them, and He blessed them. And in the day they were created, He called them “man.” Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 וַֽיְחִ֣י אָדָ֗ם שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּמְאַת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בִּדְמוּת֖וֹ כְּצַלְמ֑וֹ וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־ שְׁמ֖וֹ שֵֽׁת׃ When Adam was 130 years old, he had a son in his own likeness, after his own image; and he named him Seth. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat [a son] in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ יְמֵי־ אָדָ֗ם אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ שֵׁ֔ת שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵאֹ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Seth, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 וַיִּֽהְי֞וּ כָּל־ יְמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ אֲשֶׁר־ חַ֔י תְּשַׁ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס So Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died. And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 וַֽיְחִי־ שֵׁ֕ת חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃ When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh. And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 וַֽיְחִי־ שֵׁ֗ת אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ אֱנ֔וֹשׁ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ שֵׁ֔ת שְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס So Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died. And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 וַֽיְחִ֥י אֱנ֖וֹשׁ תִּשְׁעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ קֵינָֽן׃ When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan. And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
10 וַֽיְחִ֣י אֱנ֗וֹשׁ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ קֵינָ֔ן חֲמֵ֤שׁ עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י אֱנ֔וֹשׁ חָמֵ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס So Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died. And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
12 וַֽיְחִ֥י קֵינָ֖ן שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ מַֽהֲלַלְאֵֽל׃ When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel. And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:
13 וַיְחִ֣י קֵינָ֗ן אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
14 וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י קֵינָ֔ן עֶ֣שֶׂר שָׁנִ֔ים וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס So Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died. And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
15 וַֽיְחִ֣י מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וְשִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ יָֽרֶד׃ When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared. And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 וַֽיְחִ֣י מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֗ל אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ יֶ֔רֶד שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
17 וַיִּהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י מַהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל חָמֵ֤שׁ וְתִשְׁעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס So Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died. And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
18 וַֽיְחִי־ יֶ֕רֶד שְׁתַּ֧יִם וְשִׁשִּׁ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ חֲנֽוֹךְ׃ When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch. And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
19 וַֽיְחִי־ יֶ֗רֶד אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ חֲנ֔וֹךְ שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ יֶ֔רֶד שְׁתַּ֤יִם וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ פ So Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died. And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 וַֽיְחִ֣י חֲנ֔וֹךְ חָמֵ֥שׁ וְשִׁשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ מְתוּשָֽׁלַח׃ When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֨ךְ חֲנ֜וֹךְ אֶת־ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 וַיְהִ֖י כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י חֲנ֑וֹךְ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָֽה׃ So Enoch lived a total of 365 years. And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ חֲנ֖וֹךְ אֶת־ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְאֵינֶ֕נּוּ כִּֽי־ לָקַ֥ח אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ פ Enoch walked with God, and then he was no more, because God had taken him away. And Enoch walked with God: and he [was] not; for God took him.
25 וַיְחִ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח שֶׁ֧בַע וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־ לָֽמֶךְ׃ When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech. And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 וַֽיְחִ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֗לַח אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ לֶ֔מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֤יִם וּשְׁמוֹנִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 וַיִּהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח תֵּ֤שַׁע וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ פ So Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died. And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 וַֽיְחִי־ לֶ֕מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֧יִם וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד בֵּֽן׃ When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son. And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 וַיִּקְרָ֧א אֶת־ שְׁמ֛וֹ נֹ֖חַ לֵאמֹ֑ר זֶ֞֠ה יְנַחֲמֵ֤נוּ מִֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֙נוּ֙ וּמֵעִצְּב֣וֹן יָדֵ֔ינוּ מִן־ הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽרְרָ֖הּ יְהוָֽה׃ And he named him Noah, saying, “May this one comfort us in the labor and toil of our hands caused by the ground that the LORD has cursed.” And he called his name Noah, saying, This [same] shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
30 וַֽיְחִי־ לֶ֗מֶךְ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ נֹ֔חַ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְתִשְׁעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֹ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃ And after he had become the father of Noah, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 וַֽיְהִי֙ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ לֶ֔מֶךְ שֶׁ֤בַע וְשִׁבְעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס So Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died. And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
32 וַֽיְהִי־ נֹ֕חַ בֶּן־ חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֣וֹלֶד נֹ֔חַ אֶת־ שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־ חָ֥ם וְאֶת־ יָֽפֶת׃ After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
