And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. 20 In this way the word of the Lord continued to grow in power and to prevail. So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.
21 Now after all these things had taken place, Paul resolved to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. 36 So because these facts are indisputable, you must keep quiet and not do anything reckless. Seeing then that these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rash. Therefore, since these facts are undeniable, you ought to calm down and not do anything rash.
37 For you have brought these men here who are neither temple robbers nor blasphemers of our goddess. For you have brought these men here who are neither sacrilegious nor blasphemers of our goddess. You have brought these men here, though they have neither robbed temples nor blasphemed our goddess.
38 If then Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a complaint against someone, the courts are open and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another there.
