A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. | 1A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic. I will exalt You, LORD, because You have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. |
O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. | 2 LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. |
O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. | 3 LORD, You brought me up from Sheol; You spared me from among those going down to the Pit. |
Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. | 4Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name. |
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. | 5For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning. |
Now in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.” | 6When I was secure, I said," I will never be shaken." |
LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. | 7 LORD, when You showed Your favor, You made me stand like a strong mountain; when You hid Your face, I was terrified. |
I cried out to You, O LORD; And to the LORD I made supplication: | 8 LORD, I called to You; I sought favor from my Lord:" |
“What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? | 9What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your truth? |
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!” | 10 LORD, listen and be gracious to me; LORD, be my helper." |
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, | 11You turned my lament into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, |
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. | 12so that I can sing to You and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever. |
