And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,1The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron:
“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When any man has a discharge from his body, his discharge is unclean.2"Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any man has a discharge from his member, he is unclean.
And this shall be his uncleanness in regard to his discharge—whether his body runs with his discharge, or his body is stopped up by his discharge, it is his uncleanness.3This is uncleanness of his discharge: Whether his member secretes the discharge or retains it, he is unclean. All the days that his member secretes or retains anything because of his discharge, he is unclean.
Every bed is unclean on which he who has the discharge lies, and everything on which he sits shall be unclean.4Any bed the man with the discharge lies on will be unclean, and any furniture he sits on will be unclean.
And whoever touches his bed shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.5Anyone who touches his bed is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
He who sits on anything on which he who has the discharge sat shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.6Whoever sits on furniture that the man with the discharge was sitting on is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
And he who touches the body of him who has the discharge shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.7Whoever touches the body of the man with a discharge is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
If he who has the discharge spits on him who is clean, then he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.8If the man with the discharge spits on anyone who is clean, he is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
Any saddle on which he who has the discharge rides shall be unclean.9Any saddle the man with the discharge rides on will be unclean.
Whoever touches anything that was under him shall be unclean until evening. He who carries any of those things shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.10Whoever touches anything that was under him will be unclean until evening, and whoever carries such things is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
And whomever the one who has the discharge touches, and has not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.11If the man with the discharge touches anyone without first rinsing his hands in water, the person who was touched is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
The vessel of earth that he who has the discharge touches shall be broken, and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.12Any clay pot that the man with the discharge touches must be broken, while any wooden utensil is to be rinsed with water.
‘And when he who has a discharge is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall count for himself seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe his body in running water; then he shall be clean.13"When the man with the discharge has been cured of it, he is to count seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe his body in fresh water; he will be clean.
On the eighth day he shall take for himself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and give them to the priest.14He must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons on the eighth day, come before the LORD at the entrance to the tent of meeting, and give them to the priest.
Then the priest shall offer them, the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD because of his discharge.15The priest is to sacrifice them, one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for him before the LORD because of his discharge.
‘If any man has an emission of semen, then he shall wash all his body in water, and be unclean until evening.16"When a man has an emission of semen, he is to bathe himself completely with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
And any garment and any leather on which there is semen, it shall be washed with water, and be unclean until evening.17Any clothing or leather on which there is an emission of semen is to be washed with water, and it will remain unclean until evening.
Also, when a woman lies with a man, and there is an emission of semen, they shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.18If a man sleeps with a woman and has an emission of semen, both of them are to bathe with water, and they will remain unclean until evening.
‘If a woman has a discharge, and the discharge from her body is blood, she shall be set apart seven days; and whoever touches her shall be unclean until evening.19"When a woman has a discharge, and it consists of blood from her body, she will be unclean because of her menstruation for seven days. Everyone who touches her will be unclean until evening.
Everything that she lies on during her impurity shall be unclean; also everything that she sits on shall be unclean.20Anything she lies on during her menstruation will become unclean, and anything she sits on will become unclean.
Whoever touches her bed shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.21Everyone who touches her bed is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
And whoever touches anything that she sat on shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.22Everyone who touches any furniture she was sitting on is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
If anything is on her bed or on anything on which she sits, when he touches it, he shall be unclean until evening.23If discharge is on the bed or the furniture she was sitting on, when he touches it he will be unclean until evening.
And if any man lies with her at all, so that her impurity is on him, he shall be unclean seven days; and every bed on which he lies shall be unclean.24If a man sleeps with her, and blood from her menstruation gets on him, he will be unclean for seven days, and every bed he lies on will become unclean.
‘If a woman has a discharge of blood for many days, other than at the time of her customary impurity, or if it runs beyond her usual time of impurity, all the days of her unclean discharge shall be as the days of her customary impurity. She shall be unclean.25"When a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days, though it is not the time of her menstruation, or if she has a discharge beyond her period, she will be unclean all the days of her unclean discharge, as she is during the days of her menstruation.
Every bed on which she lies all the days of her discharge shall be to her as the bed of her impurity; and whatever she sits on shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her impurity.26Any bed she lies on during the days of her discharge will be like her bed during menstrual impurity; any furniture she sits on will be unclean as in her menstrual period.
Whoever touches those things shall be unclean; he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.27Everyone who touches them will be unclean; he must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening.
‘But if she is cleansed of her discharge, then she shall count for herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.28When she is cured of her discharge, she is to count seven days, and after that she will be clean.
And on the eighth day she shall take for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and bring them to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting.29On the eighth day she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
Then the priest shall offer the one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, and the priest shall make atonement for her before the LORD for the discharge of her uncleanness.30The priest is to sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her before the LORD because of her unclean discharge.
‘Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.31"You must keep the Israelites from their uncleanness, so that they do not die by defiling my tabernacle that is among them.
This is the law for one who has a discharge, and for him who emits semen and is unclean thereby,32This is the law for someone with a discharge: a man who has an emission of semen, becoming unclean by it;
and for her who is indisposed because of her customary impurity, and for one who has a discharge, either man or woman, and for him who lies with her who is unclean.’ ”33a woman who is in her menstrual period; anyone who has a discharge, whether male or female; and a man who sleeps with a woman who is unclean."
