Romans 12
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice--alive, holy, and pleasing to God--which is your reasonable service.1I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God--what is good and well-pleasing and perfect. 2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.3For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function,4For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,
so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.5so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.6Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach;7if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;
if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness. 8the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.9Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.10Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.11Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.12Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.13Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.17Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay," says the Lord.19Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.20To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
