| 1"Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me. | 1“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. |
| 2There are many dwelling places in my Father's house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you. | 2In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? |
| 3And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too. | 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. |

| 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father residing in me performs his miraculous deeds. | 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. |
| 11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves. | 11Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. |
| 12I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father. | 12“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. |

| 25"I have spoken these things while staying with you. | 25“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. |
| 26But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you. | 26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. |
| 27"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage. | 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. |
| 28You heard me say to you, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am. | 28You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. |
| 29I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. | 29And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. |
| 30I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me, | 30I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, |
| 31but I am doing just what the Father commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Get up, let us go from here." | 31but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here. |
