He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. | 1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. |
I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" | 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. |
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence. | 3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. |
He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. | 4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. |
You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; | 5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; |
Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. | 6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. |
A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. | 7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. |
You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked. | 8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. |
For you have made the LORD, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. | 9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; |
No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. | 10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. |
For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. | 11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. |
They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone. | 12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. |
You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down. | 13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. |
"Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. | 14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. |
"He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. | 15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. |
"With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My salvation." | 16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. |
