1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,1The LORD told Moses,
2Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.2"Tell the Israelis to take an offering for me, and you are to accept my offering from every person whose heart moves him to give.
3And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,3This is the offering that you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze;
4And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair,4blue, purple, and scarlet material; fine linen and goat hair;
5And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,5ram skins dyed red, dolphin skins, and acacia wood;
6Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,6oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for aromatic incense;
7Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.7and onyx stones, stones for setting on the ephod and the breast piece.
8And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.8Let them make a sanctuary for me so I may live among them.
9According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.9This is how you are to make it: according to all that I'm showing you, according to the pattern for the tent and the pattern for all its furnishings."
10And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.10"They are to make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.
11And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.11You are to overlay it with pure gold—you are to overlay it inside and outside—and you are to make a gold molding around it.
12And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.12You are to cast four rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side of it and two rings on its other side.
13And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.13You are to make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
14And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.14You are to put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark with which to carry it.
15The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark and are not to be removed from it.
16And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.16You are to put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.
17And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.17"You are to make a Mercy Seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.
18And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.18You are to make two cherubim of gold; you are to make them of hammered work at the two ends of the Mercy Seat.
19And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.19Place one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. You are to make the cherubim at the two ends of the Mercy Seat, and of one piece with it.
20And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.20The cherubim are to spread their wings upward, covering the Mercy Seat with their wings and facing each other. The faces of the cherubim is to be turned toward the Mercy Seat.
21And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.21You are to put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark, and put the Testimony that I'll give you into the ark.
22And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.22I'll meet with you there, and I'll tell you all my commandments for the Israelis from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the Ark of the Testimony."
23Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.23"You are to make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high.
24And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about.24You are to overlay it with pure gold, and put a gold molding around it.
25And thou shalt make unto it a border of an hand breadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof round about.25You are to make a rim one handbreadth in width around it, and you are to make a gold molding around the rim.
26And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.26You are to make four gold rings for it, and put the rings on the four corners where its four feet are.
27Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table.27The rings are to be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table.
28And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them.28You are to make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold so the table can be carried with them.
29And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou make them.29You are to make its plates, dishes, jars, and bowls from which libations will be poured, and you are to make them of pure gold.
30And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.30You are to put the bread of the Presence on the table before me continuously."
31And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.31"You are to make a lamp stand of pure gold: the lamp stand and its base and stem shall be of hammered work, and its cups, calyxes, and flowers are to be of one piece with it.
32And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side:32Six branches are to extend from its sides, three branches of the lamp stand from one side of it and three branches of the lamp stand from its other side.
33Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.33Three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on one branch and three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on the other branch, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand.
34And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.34"On the lamp stand itself there are to be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with their calyxes and flowers.
35And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick.35A calyx is to be under the two branches that extend out of the stem; a calyx is to be under the next pair of branches that extend out of the stem; and a calyx is to be under the last pair of branches that extend out of the stem, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand.
36Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.36Their calyxes and their branches are to be of one piece with it; all of it is to be made of one piece of hammered work of pure gold.
37And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it.37"You are to make seven lamps for it, and its lamps are to be mounted so as to give light in front of it.
38And the tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof, shall be of pure gold.38Its tongs and trays are to be of pure gold.
39Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.39The lamp stand —together with all its furnishings—is to be made from a talent of pure gold.
40And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.40Now see that you make them according to the pattern for them which you are being shown on the mountain."
