1If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel now say—1שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת לְדָ֫וִ֥ד לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ יֹֽאמַר־ נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
2if the LORD had not been on our side, when men came against us,2לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ בְּק֖וּם עָלֵ֣ינוּ אָדָֽם׃
3then they would have devoured us alive, when their anger burned against us.3אֲ֭זַי חַיִּ֣ים בְּלָע֑וּנוּ בַּחֲר֖וֹת אַפָּ֣ם בָּֽנוּ׃
4Then the flood waters would have overwhelmed us, the torrent would have flooded over us;4אֲ֭זַי הַמַּ֣יִם שְׁטָפ֑וּנוּ נַ֗֜חְלָה‪‬ עָבַ֥ר עַל־ נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃
5the swollen waters would have swept us away.5אֲ֭זַי עָבַ֣ר עַל־ נַפְשֵׁ֑נוּ הַ֝מַּ֗יִם הַזֵּֽידוֹנִֽים׃
6Blessed be the LORD, who did not give us as prey to their teeth.6בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה שֶׁלֹּ֥א נְתָנָ֥נוּ טֶ֝֗רֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶֽם׃
7We have escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap. The trap has been broken, and we have escaped.7נַפְשֵׁ֗נוּ כְּצִפּ֥וֹר נִמְלְטָה֮ מִפַּ֪ח י֫וֹקְשִׁ֥ים הַפַּ֥ח נִשְׁבָּ֗ר וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּ׃
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.8עֶ֭זְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃
