Psalm 124
ISV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew International Version
1If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel now say—1A song of ascents. Of David. If the LORD had not been on our side-- let Israel say--
2if the LORD had not been on our side, when men came against us,2if the LORD had not been on our side when people attacked us,
3then they would have devoured us alive, when their anger burned against us.3they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;
4Then the flood waters would have overwhelmed us, the torrent would have flooded over us;4the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,
5the swollen waters would have swept us away.5the raging waters would have swept us away.
6Blessed be the LORD, who did not give us as prey to their teeth.6Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
7We have escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap. The trap has been broken, and we have escaped.7We have escaped like a bird from the fowler's snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.8Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
