Psalm 124
ISV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNET Bible
1If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel now say—1A song of ascents, by David. "If the LORD had not been on our side"--let Israel say this!--
2if the LORD had not been on our side, when men came against us,2if the LORD had not been on our side, when men attacked us,
3then they would have devoured us alive, when their anger burned against us.3they would have swallowed us alive, when their anger raged against us.
4Then the flood waters would have overwhelmed us, the torrent would have flooded over us;4The water would have overpowered us; the current would have overwhelmed us.
5the swollen waters would have swept us away.5The raging water would have overwhelmed us.
6Blessed be the LORD, who did not give us as prey to their teeth.6The LORD deserves praise, for he did not hand us over as prey to their teeth.
7We have escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap. The trap has been broken, and we have escaped.7We escaped with our lives, like a bird from a hunter's snare. The snare broke, and we escaped.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.8Our deliverer is the LORD, the Creator of heaven and earth.
