Holman Christian Standard Bible | English Standard Version |
A song. A Davidic psalm. My heart is confident, God; I will sing; I will sing praises with the whole of my being. | 1My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! |
Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn. | 2Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! |
I will praise You, LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. |
For Your faithful love is higher than the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. | 4For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
God, be exalted above the heavens, and let Your glory be over the whole earth. | 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! |
Save with Your right hand and answer me so that those You love may be rescued. | 6That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer me! |
God has spoken in His sanctuary:" I will triumph! I will divide up Shechem. I will apportion the Valley of Succoth. | 7God has promised in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine, and Ephraim is My helmet; Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter. |
Moab is My washbasin; I throw My sandal on Edom. I shout in triumph over Philistia." | 9Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” |
Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? |
God, haven't You rejected us? God, You do not march out with our armies. | 11Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies. |
Give us aid against the foe, for human help is worthless. | 12Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man! |
With God we will perform valiantly; He will trample our foes. | 13With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. |
