2so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. | 2that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. | 2so that you and your son and your grandson might fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. | 2That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. | 2Do this so that you may fear the LORD your God all the days of your life by keeping all His statutes and commands I am giving you, your son, and your grandson, and so that you may have a long life. |

Teach Your Children
(Ephesians 6:1-4) 20In the future, when your son asks you, "What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?" | 20“When your son asks you in time to come, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies and the statutes and the rules that the LORD our God has commanded you?’ | 20"When your son asks you in time to come, saying, 'What do the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments mean which the LORD our God commanded you?' | 20And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you? | 20When your son asks you in the future, 'What is the meaning of the decrees, statutes, and ordinances, which the LORD our God has commanded you?' |
21tell him: "We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. | 21then you shall say to your son, ‘We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt. And the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. | 21then you shall say to your son, 'We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and the LORD brought us from Egypt with a mighty hand. | 21Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: | 21tell him, 'We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand. |
22Before our eyes the LORD sent signs and wonders--great and terrible--on Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household. | 22And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, against Egypt and against Pharaoh and all his household, before our eyes. | 22'Moreover, the LORD showed great and distressing signs and wonders before our eyes against Egypt, Pharaoh and all his household; | 22And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: | 22Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household, |
23But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land he promised on oath to our ancestors. | 23And he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in and give us the land that he swore to give to our fathers. | 23He brought us out from there in order to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.' | 23And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. | 23but He brought us from there in order to lead us in and give us the land that He swore to our fathers. |
24The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. | 24And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day. | 24"So the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God for our good always and for our survival, as it is today. | 24And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. | 24The LORD commanded us to follow all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God for our prosperity always and for our preservation, as it is today. |
25And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness." | 25And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.’ | 25"It will be righteousness for us if we are careful to observe all this commandment before the LORD our God, just as He commanded us. | 25And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us. | 25Righteousness will be ours if we are careful to follow every one of these commands before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.'" |
