NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is before you,1When you sit down to eat with a ruler, observe carefully what is before you,1When you sit down to dine with a ruler, Consider carefully what is before you,1When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:1When you sit down to dine with a ruler, consider carefully what is before you,
and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.2and put a knife to your throat if you are given to appetite.2And put a knife to your throat If you are a man of great appetite.2And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.2and put a knife to your throat if you have a big appetite;
Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive.3Do not desire his delicacies, for they are deceptive food.3Do not desire his delicacies, For it is deceptive food.3Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.3don't desire his choice food, for that food is deceptive.
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.4Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist.4Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, Cease from your consideration of it.4Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.4Don't wear yourself out to get rich; stop giving your attention to it.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.5When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven.5When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.5Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.5As soon as your eyes fly to it, it disappears, for it makes wings for itself and flies like an eagle to the sky.
Do not eat the food of a begrudging host, do not crave his delicacies;6Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,6Do not eat the bread of a selfish man, Or desire his delicacies;6Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:6Don't eat a stingy person's bread, and don't desire his choice food,
for he is the kind of person who is always thinking about the cost. "Eat and drink," he says to you, but his heart is not with you.7for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.7For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, "Eat and drink!" But his heart is not with you.7For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.7for it's like someone calculating inwardly." Eat and drink," he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
You will vomit up the little you have eaten and will have wasted your compliments.8You will vomit up the morsels that you have eaten, and waste your pleasant words.8You will vomit up the morsel you have eaten, And waste your compliments.8The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.8You will vomit the little you've eaten and waste your pleasant words.
Do not speak to fools, for they will scorn your prudent words.9Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the good sense of your words.9Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.9Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.9Don't speak to a fool, for he will despise the insight of your words.

for their Defender is strong; he will take up their case against you.11for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.11For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you.11For their redeemer is mighty; he shall plead their cause with thee.11for their Redeemer is strong, and He will take up their case against you.

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die.13Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die.13Do not hold back discipline from the child, Although you strike him with the rod, he will not die.13Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.13Don't withhold discipline from a youth; if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.

my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.16My inmost being will exult when your lips speak what is right.16And my inmost being will rejoice When your lips speak what is right.16Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.16My innermost being will cheer when your lips say what is right.

for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.21for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.21For the heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe one with rags.21For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.21For the drunkard and the glutton will become poor, and grogginess will clothe them in rags.

for an adulterous woman is a deep pit, and a wayward wife is a narrow well.27For a prostitute is a deep pit; an adulteress is a narrow well.27For a harlot is a deep pit And an adulterous woman is a narrow well.27For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.27For a prostitute is a deep pit, and a stranger is a narrow well;
Like a bandit she lies in wait and multiplies the unfaithful among men.28She lies in wait like a robber and increases the traitors among mankind.28Surely she lurks as a robber, And increases the faithless among men.28She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.28indeed, she sets an ambush like a robber and increases those among men who are unfaithful.
Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?29Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes?29Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes?29Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?29Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has conflicts? Who has complaints? Who has wounds for no reason? Who has red eyes?

Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly!31Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly.31Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it goes down smoothly;31Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.31Don't gaze at wine because it is red, when it gleams in the cup and goes down smoothly.
In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.32In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder.32At the last it bites like a serpent And stings like a viper.32At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.32In the end it bites like a snake and stings like a viper.
Your eyes will see strange sights, and your mind will imagine confusing things.33Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart utter perverse things.33Your eyes will see strange things And your mind will utter perverse things.33Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.33Your eyes will see strange things, and you will say absurd things.
You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging.34You will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, like one who lies on the top of a mast.34And you will be like one who lies down in the middle of the sea, Or like one who lies down on the top of a mast.34Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.34You'll be like someone sleeping out at sea or lying down on the top of a ship's mast."
"They hit me," you will say, "but I'm not hurt! They beat me, but I don't feel it! When will I wake up so I can find another drink?"35“They struck me,” you will say, “but I was not hurt; they beat me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake? I must have another drink.”35"They struck me, but I did not become ill; They beat me, but I did not know it. When shall I awake? I will seek another drink."35They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.35They struck me, but I feel no pain! They beat me, but I didn't know it! When will I wake up? I'll look for another drink."
