This is the record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
And you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers, when He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.'
The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and foretold the gospel to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you."
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, "and to seeds," meaning many, but "and to your seed," meaning One, who is Christ.
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you."
Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed.
For I have chosen him, so that he will command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, in order that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has promised."
So Abraham got up early the next morning, saddled his donkey, and took along two of his servants and his son Isaac. He split wood for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had designated.
Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son.
I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, and I will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed,
because Abraham listened to My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws."
Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and east and north and south. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.
May his name endure forever; may his name increase as long as the sun shines. In him may all nations be blessed; may they call him blessed.
and if you can swear, 'As surely as the LORD lives,' in truth, in justice, and in righteousness, then the nations will be blessed by Him, and in Him they will glory."
