Joshua 8:24
Good News Translation
The Israelites killed every one of the enemy in the barren country where they had chased them. Then they went back to Ai and killed everyone there.

New Revised Standard Version
When Israel had finished slaughtering all the inhabitants of Ai in the open wilderness where they pursued them, and when all of them to the very last had fallen by the edge of the sword, all Israel returned to Ai, and attacked it with the edge of the sword.

When Israel finished killing all the inhabitants of Ai in the open, who had pursued them into the wilderness, and all of them to the last man fell by the sword, then all Israel returned and put to the sword those inside the city.
