The Resurrection
(Matthew 28:1–10; Luke 24:1–12; John 20:1–9)

1And on the Sabbath having passed, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that, having come, they might anoint Him. 2And very early on the first of the Sabbaths, they come to the tomb at the sun having arisen. 3And they were saying among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone for us out from the door of the tomb?” 4And having looked up, they see that the stone has been rolled away; for it was extremely large.

5And having entered into the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right, and they were greatly amazed. 6And he says to them, “Do not be amazed. You⁺ seek Jesus the Nazarene, the One having been crucified. He is risen! He is not here! Behold the place where they laid Him. 7But go, say to His disciples and to Peter, ‘He goes before you⁺ into Galilee. There you⁺ will see Him, as He said to you⁺.’”

8And having gone out, they fled from the tomb, for trembling and amazement had seized them. And they spoke nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
(John 20:10–18)

9And having risen early the first of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. 10She, having gone, told it to those having been with Him, mourning and weeping. 11And they, having heard that He is alive and was seen by her, disbelieved.

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples
(Luke 24:13–35)

12And after these things, He appeared in another form to two of them as they are walking, going into the country.

13And they, having gone, told it to the rest; neither did they believe them.

The Great Commission
(Matthew 28:16–20)

14And afterward in their reclining, He appeared to the Eleven and rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those having seen Him arisen.

15And He said to them, “Having gone into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation. 16The one having believed and having been baptized will be saved, but the one having disbelieved will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those having believed: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18and with their hands they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it shall never hurt them; they will lay hands upon the sick, and they will be well.”

The Ascension
(Luke 24:50–53; Acts 1:6–11)

19Therefore indeed the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into the heaven and sat at the right hand of God.

20And they, having gone out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the accompanying signs.
